Slam-dunking in with a £48 million bid, it’s Chelsea.

Joe Shields coming in late to steal him from the Scousers.

Hopefully they will pay almost all of it up front in cold hard cash.

Unlike Liverpool who were pissing us about.

🤣🤣🤣 you know what, I’d be happy to sell him for £48m to Chelsea now rather than Liverpool just to p*ss those scouser tvvats off! But even then that’s a pretty decent offer, and hopefully it’ll be the last big departure we see all summer now, as we should have enough now to start looking at bringing in players rather than selling them.
But still I really do hope Chelsea get him over Liverpool as it sure would be nice to get back at all those pathetic scousers and glory hunters, that seemed to think it was there god given right to do one over us yet again, and get him on the cheap just because we went down and they’re si ok bigger. As it would be so satisfying

I would rather like United to blow them both out of the water with a £55 million bid.

I seem to recall you thought that was his likely destination (?)…..

I have no idea how much of the fee we have to pay to City BTW……

I'm sure I read somewhere we need to pay them about 11 million, so we get nearly 40 million.

Yeah well that’s where I was told he’d already agreed stuff with, back in April/May sorta time, as trust me mate but I’m not gonna come on here and lie about what I’m told whenever I’m down at Staplewood. As yeah some had been complete nonsense, whilst others have been spot on, but most of what I’m told was what was planned/expected to happen, but as anyone who watches this game knows, it’s very rare that all this transfer business actually goes to plan

It’s 20%, which is why we wanted £50m for him, as if we sold him for that then City would get £10m, and we’d get the remaining £40m, but he’s also got a buyback clause in his contract which doesn’t activate until next summer which is for £40m (but of course without the sell on clause).
So we’re selling him for that much as I’d he didn’t leave this summer then we’d not only get him for a year extra, but also could probably get City activating that, so only wanna sell knowing that we would’ve only sold him for just as much or less, in a years time

We definitely won’t want to sell to Chelsea. They have a clear tactic of offering a 8 year contract and paying the fee over that time to get round for.

Do the two go hand in hand?

I thought FFP regulations would be based on the P & L Account of Chelsea, which would be linked to amortisation of player contracts, rather than cash outgoings from transfer activity.

I think the FPP rules have been changed and now allow a maximum of 5 years.

I think this bid has more to do with Saints and Chelsea getting together to put pressure on Liverpool and Brighton.

He wants to go to Liverpool so will end up there.

Don't want him to go but he is so let's just hope it's Chelsea and not the Scousers who even Carragher said were embarrassing themselves with the way they approached it
