Quick question how many times did he get sent off for Saints, I remember him getting red carded in a League cup tie against Aston Villa but can't think of any others, im sure there must have been more
Satisfying The Bloodlust Of The Masses In Peacetime
That's all I can think of. Suspended by the club, nearly losing his leg/life through internal bleeding, arrests for him/his wife and scaring my pompey mate in a Winchester pub, but can only think of that one red

I cant think of any more myself, but apparently he got 12 red cards during his career, he played around 130 games for Birmingham, 129 games for Saints and then only 30 odd games after leaving us for QPR & Palace, I can't believe that he only go 1 in 129 for us, but 11 in only around 170 for the other clubs

I remember one time he got sent off for a "tackle" at home against maybe Norwich(??). TBH he deserved to be sent off, even by the standards of those days. It was straight out of a horror movie. It took place close to the penalty area at the Archers end, West stand side, and if I remember correctly the other bloke's leg was broken. Certainly he was taken off in some distress.

Didn't his wife stab him so he missed a few matches?
Whilst on the subject of red cards, this one from Franny was quite special - if ever a player deserved taking out like this then Fashanu was pretty high on the list.
I remember the FA Cup tie against Wigan at The Dell in 1986 when he deposited a Wigan player into the Lower West Stand terrace where we were stood. He leant over the wall where the player had ended up and I genuinely thought he was going to help him back onto the pitch, but instead he just shouted something like "Get back in the third division where you belong" or words to that effect.
I remember we played all three Wallace brothers in the starting XI in an evening game away at Spurs (Oct 88); when the teams were announced the Saints fans started singing 'One Mrs Wallace, there's only one Mrs Wallace' which actually drew a small ripple of applause from The Shelf, as was. We won 2-1, with 2 goals from Glenn Cockerill, Rodney scored an OG, Colin Clarke got subbed off on what was to be his final appearance before moving to QPR to be replaced by Matt Le Tiss who then got subbed for Neil Maddison who was making his debut. Quite an eventful evening all round.
