What a lift it would give the place if we could get Ramsey in this week

My fear for the season is that RM will insist on playing his possession football in our own box . Currently we have neither the keeper or players at the back that are comfortable enough to do it. We gave up plenty of chances doing it last year, and PL teams are a lot more clinical.
It also spreads anxiety to the stands which in turn affects the players.
Simply put, there is no point forcing the team to do something that we don't have the players to do. It's madness and frankly smacks of stubbornness.
I'm all for possession and passing in the top 2 thirds of the pitch, but I really think if Martin thinks he can play like he did last year we're going to be in trouble and I genuinely fear for his job. No point having 70% possession and losing 4 nil.

I fervently hope he takes the good things we did last year, and adds a more pragmatic twist so we get the ball forward quicker, and we play further away from our goal.
If we do that we might not need the keepers to have the ball skills of Messi.

My exact fears too, Sonic. Also that Martin is too arrogant to adapt.

I think that seems to be the general view of most fans. Basically we just don't know what we're going to get
Ok, so Ramsdale may bust our budget by a few bob, but surely whoever holds the purse strings can see that we need to assuming they actually do have an interest in football and not just business.
As has been said, why was AM offered and given a new contract other than being told he would have to fight for the No.1 shirt as he's not good enough yet for the style of football the manager seems to be insisting on playing
Saturday against the geordies is certainly going to be interesting and maybe a sign of what sort of season we will have
Optimistic? Not for me just jet

I don't quite get it, pay him his Arsenal wages, 120£k pw, 6m a year is peanuts if you stay in the PL, it's not as if we're paying a transfer fee is it?
