Their version is Craig Short who will lead First Team preparations alongside Chris Hackett and Lewis Price. This is the third time he has been caretaker manager stepping in in February 2023 and then again in the November of that year. He has managed at other clubs but with not much success, namely Ferencvaros where he had 21 games and then Notts County where he had 18 games. So at 57 years old I dont think he is a version of Tonda, ie young and looking to forge a career at the highest level, but a jobbing football coach in the lower leagues who likes a nice steady income

This game has got me worried. They've got a good record against the bigger sides this season. We're poor defensively....we always concede a bad goal ..its feels inevitable. Hoping for a Tonda masterclass.

Yes I think you are right he was sent off playing for us in December 1991 against Notts County in the final minute for the aforementioned head butt, good memory AI says he was playing for Liverpool at the time

Yes. He was also on that BBC documentary a few months ago about players in the 90's getting scammed out of most of their earnings by a couple of dodgy agents who promised riches from film investment schemes and overseas property developments. Along with the likes of Danny Murphy, Rod Wallace, Brian Deane, Tommy Johnson and others. They lost untold millions between them.

I hope we go there with the right attitude and approach - for 90 plus minutes not just 45 minutes.

The world gets ever more difficult to understand. Oxford sack their coach two days before Christmas which must be absolutely wonderful (not) for him and his family at the same time as Bet365 latest annual accounts are released, showing one person ( the owner ) was paid over £200 million in salary and dividends. To Sports Republic credit we are now at least sponsored by a cruise company rather than any hideous gambling organisation. [Post edited 23 Dec 12:20]

Isn’t she in charge at Stoke? Interesting that she and her family don’t seem to throw money at the team…..

I'm not sure that she is involved as such but the Coates family did own them, but now it's just one of them, Peter Coates so whether that's her father/brother/husband (are you following!) or some other incestuous relationship I wouldn't have a clue! But jesting aside, it's riduculous that one person can make that much money out of poor b@stards like us (well not me as don't gamble) that hope one day to make a few bob out of them. Unfortuntely the bookies always win

Stoke have frozen season ticket prices for 18 YEARS. Stoke fans get free coach travel to all away games. So she's not all bad.
