I noticed that Forest only gave the minimum away allocation to Villa for their big European game, which meant about a third of the away section - the part nearest the pitch - was left empty. When it matters, clubs do limit the away allocation, even if it costs them money.
Boro's capacity is bigger than ours so we should certainly not offer them more tickets than they've offered us. [Post edited 3 May 11:05]

I don't have a clue about their away support, but on a Tuesday night, that's two days off work with only a week's notice. Their sales for the 2nd leg might also be affected by the score in the first leg. | |

Rules for the championship away allocations are 10% or 2000 whichever is the smaller. Including playoffs.
Obviously some cubs give more like Preston , Blackburn but you can bet if it was a big game for them then they’d limit it too. | |

True. Could Saints fans sit in a block in that away end as there is a barrier and could the Saints fans then get access to the concourse underneath, when there is a wall there is wall there isn't there? | |

You're right, them's the rules, Coventry only ever give us the max they give any team for a league of 2127, about 1000 short of 10% capacity.
We could, like the Pompey game go like for like and give them what them give us,

Ipswich away this season we got 2000 @ £38
You'd think the clubs would chat about things like this.

Most Ipswich tickets were £43 I think. 38 was only in the tiny lower section.
I think some clubs have pushed for a price cap but you can see why many aren't interested with much less TV money in this league. | | | |

I was totally against the change because it would reduce atmosphere and all this fanzone fencing is a bit ugly. Reasons they claimed like away fans making more noise was total tosh and decisions bneing made by people who had been around only a handful of years and not seen games from 20 years ago etc

Before there used to be a section kept empty behind the goal in the Northam to separate the home and away fans. It always looked terrible. When you saw TV replays of our goals or photos online it looked like the stadium was empty. At least an empty section in a corner wouldn't be noticed. [Post edited 4 May 20:10]
