Bounce Back Loans 11:49 - May 4 with 2816 viewsBoris_

Another great move from Rishi. £50k loans with no repayments for 12 months and no interest for 12 months, fixed 2.5% APR for the remaining 5 years with no Early Repayment Fees.

Good job we have a business minded government leading us through this pandemic.

Good Grief! He’s said he’s applying for loans he doesn’t really needs

Why are you bothered? The government aren't paying for it, the bank are, so genuinely, why are you bothered? Just like Sad Old Git, you have a very apt username.

Am applying for two of my BUSINESSES for the £50k. Don't really need them but never going to get a chance to borrow money on those terms again so will grab the cash and invest.

Yeah good move greedy capitalist, take money you dont really need thus depriving those who do
Who said the Tory way isn't morally wrong?

Who is it depriving? Are you saying the banks are going to run out of money? Or are you pretending there's a limit on who can have one?

My God this is like swimming in treacle. All those that slate the banks should be cheering from the rooftops as they are the ones who have to lend the money for no financial gain as Boris said it's interest free for a year yet they will have to employ staff and maintain computer systems to administer this.

It's self preservation.

Now now, come on. You've said that it's unreasonable for a BUSINESS owner to take a LOAN from their BANK ( not the government ) to invest and grow their company, ultimately hopefully creating more jobs.

Explain your reasons?

Yes, it's a LOAN from the BANK on ridiculously good terms. So what is your issue? Explain. I'm not convinced you fly First Class if you can't see why any business should at least take the loans ( even if they put it aside and return it in 12 months if they don't need it )

What is your issue, break it down chap, or admit you don't know what you're talking about.

My issue is pal, you stated you didnt really need them so why apply for them?
Leave them for those who really do need them
You are adding to the deficit of the loan which means more ha store be repaid somehow

You aren't as savvy with BUSINESS as you make out, are you?

The bank will receive around £5k in interest over the term and the government will not pay a penny.

Also, to repeat, it is the BANK that are offering them, not the government so what deficit are you talking about? Keen to understand your beef mush. They also aren't limited so nobody is going to 'miss out' .

Sorry just in from the sunshine.I like to get out occasionally.
No I did not say that,I said its not right to take out loans that the government are on the hook for 80% when as you have said you didn't really need them.
Did you or did you not say 'that you didn't really need the loan's?,Yes or No would suffice.

Well depends how you define 'need' ?

We aren't currently insolvent if that is what you mean?

The government aren't on the hook for anything unless I can't pay the loan back. In the event that business gets so bad that I can't pay the loan back, that would perhaps suggest that I needed it in the first place, don't you think?!

Still struggling to understand what your issue is. Incase I've not been clear enough... it's a BANK loan, not a GOVERNMENT loan. I have not received a penny either in the form of a grant or a loan from the government at all, throughout this.

If your BUSINESSES go pop the Government repay with interest the loans to the Bank so it is risk free as far as you and the Bank are concerned as the taxpayer picks up the tab.
I can see the attraction.

Government underwriting loans is supporting them, they wouldn't do it otherwise.

Supporting by guaranteeing the loans. Only relevant if a BUSINESS goes in to liquidation with no cash or assets to pay the creditors.

So I will ask you again... what is your issue?
