What a joker you are !!

Everyone knows his time with QPR and yourselves were in the 2nd tier of football. 18 in 37 league games isn't bad at all in that division, but then you sold him.

His scoring record proved that when he moved up to the PREM with Villa, he was not so prolific - just 6 goals in 37 league games.

After he signed for Saints from the wilderness he was in at Villa, he notched 12 goals in 27 league games, or 16 goals in 33 appearances in total - a great return for us in a season in which we struggled. A vast difference in form from Villa, yes ? Ultimately form with Saints that launched his career, got him England recognition and prompted his move to Liverpool.

When he moved back to Pompey in the PREM in 08/09, he only scored 11 in 38 league games, and 16 from 49 games in total for the season.

All the above are facts, but you keep on telling yourself that it was Pompey that launched his career.

Yes that's right, we sold him, and rebuilt the team and got promoted, and we were able to score from all over the pitch rather play one way and lump it up to him.

He eventually went to a struggling club ie Soton and your club heavily relied on him to bang in the goals, with him holding the ball up for others around him. Your club out-scored all your relegation rivals, as you went for goals, but it was the defence that let you down. he was just lucky enough to go to a club where this philosophy was in use. He would have had a lot of chances that year. When he went to PL clubs which were more organised, he settled in as a 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 striker.

The only reason he scored a few more goals that year was because he scored in the cups against lesser teams ie Brentford and Northampton, and one against Pompey.

So, as I said, he kick-started his career at QPR and Pompey. He just got lucky enough enough to play for a desperate to score team in 04/05, and of course the only other time he hit double league figures in the PL was in a non struggling Pompey side, and once with Spurs.

Kick Start basically means to bring something back to life, that has been left idle for a while. He wasn't idle at QPR before he came to you.

2 1/4 seasons at Aston Villa, just 43 appearances in that time and only 6 goals, suggests he was in the wilderness, not playing much and definitely not scoring many.

A move to Saints (as back up to Beattie and Phillips) gave him a new lease of life, got him games, goals, England selection and at the end of the season - a move to Liverpool. Therefore this proves, as Nick initially said, we kick started his career. Fact.

If you want to use the Collins dictionary which uses your particular definition, then superb.

However, most normal people would look at the early part of his career and see it as a continual climb until he got to Liverpool, but I expect he was providing a lot more assists at that club.

However, the reality is that he kickstarted 'his career' at QPR, then took it to another level at Pompey, he upgraded the level at Villa, then kickstarted it again at Norwich with a 1 in 4 ratio, then kept the same goal ratio on his return to Villa. He then went to a struggling PL club and scored at 1 in 2.5 before making his big money move to Liverpool. he then kickstarted his career again at Pompey before settling in to graze at Spurs and Stoke.

So, the reality is, using your definition that he kickstarted his career at QPR, Norwich and then Pompey. He was already putting in the goals when he got your club.

Look, you thick pompey cvnt. He was doing fook all at Villa having come from piss-ant clubs like QPR and the skates. He got to play for England and Liverpool on the basis of the performances he put in for us. That's the very definition of 'kick starting' a career.

Now do us all a favour and fvck off, you pedantic matelot fvckwit.

oooh look, it's Mr Angry again. On the International front he was useless when he was at your club, probably because he was playing in a stupid setup for a carp team. he then 'kickstarted' his Engand career at Liverpool, and was also quite good when he was at Pompey for the second time. These are the facts you angry little boy.

You really are one sad, pathetic, lonely skate. Why the hell do you spend half your life on the board of a club you detest? Why are you so needy and desperate for attention? Those are rhetorical questions btw.

Do yourself (and us) a favour and get a life.

How was he useless on the international front whilst at Saints? He got his first call up in May 05 and made his debut after his last game for us. But please, dont bother replying

He played for England 4 times while at your club, but never scored a goal. Strikers are meant to score goals. Some people might call that useless. Please don't bother to respond to these facts.

That clip about Colin is still so funny, and it's about the 4th time you have put it up for me.

He played once for England as a scummer. That is one less time than I have posted the link likening you to Colin.

So he failed to score whilst he was at your club, what a failure he was then. He seemed to score so many more goals for his country while at other clubs, particularly Liverpool. You could say he kickstarted his England career at Liverpool.

That clip is still so funny.

That's right. He failed to score in that one game he played for England whilst still registered at Southampton. He must have done ok at Southampton to get an England call up and a big move to Liverpool? After doing well at QPR and Portsmouth, he never really hit it off at Villa and moved to Southampton which seemed to reinvigorate, or, some may say, kick start his career. Unless it was a delayed reaction to his loan spell at Norwich?

Anyway, he does seem to be quite a likeable bloke, but I couldn't watch that awful Saturday evening show. Him failing as an international whilst still under contract at SMS just makes it worse.

The reason he didn't step up so well at Villa is well documented. Graham Taylor bought him to fit into his system of getting the ball out wide and hitting lots of crosses over. Crouch was never very good in the air early in his career, and struggled. For a tall guy he was in fact very good with his feet. The illustrious Taylor, though a previous England manager hadn't spotted this, and wasn't able to improve him sufficiently in his time there.

Crouch was prolific for England at Liverpool but never replicated this for that club, best PL rate at your club, best overall rate at our club. Not a bad bloke tbf, and the virgin joke will always be a top ten footballers funny comment.
