SOG had never heard of Lee Cain until he walked earlier this week!

Had you heard of him?

Would you say that the government has been run efficiently since Cummings arrived on the scene? Most people would say anything but.

Many parts of the government civil service are not running efficiently, they are a bureaucratic mess, that's my point, and Cummings was overhauling it.

If it was a mess before, then since Cummings became involved it is even more of a mess, which is why he is no longer in a job surely?

It takes longer than a few months (since Feb) to sort out a deeply ingrained and inefficient civil service.

These are serious allegations.
I was thinking more along the lines of a lesser charge such as sedition.

It takes a special skill to leave it worse than you found it. The same with the Cabinet. Cummings did a good job campaigning for Leave but clearly is rubbish at administration and day to day government.

If the Civil Service is that badly run, why have the Tories still not sorted it out after 10 years?

Cummings and his pals tells us that we will give £350m a week if we leave the EU. A large chunk of the electorate believe him. It turns out to be a lie.

Haven’t you taken your meds today Jay? It is not difficult. Why should we assume that the Civil Service is inefficient and needs a major overhaul just because someone like Dominic Cummings says it is. The bloke is a proven bullsh itter.

First of all Cummings style maybe arguably dreadful but being a graduate with a first class degree from Oxford shows he has more brain cells than most. Also a lot of criticism of the Civil Service has come from numerous cabinet ministers past and present. Check out recent criticism from the Institute of Government. It was never Cummings job to reform the Civil Service, that has to come from within, fat chance! Save your bilge for other targets of left wing desperation.

Common sense trumps brain cells and he seemed to lack that. I think you will find many Tories were very happy to see the back of Cummings, so let’s not pretend this has anything to do with left or right politics.

It was the insidious little sh!tes blatant disregard for lockdown rules which he helped implement in ferrying family members halfway across the country, plus a nice little bit tourism to check out his eyesight during the strict lockdown is when he should have been shown the door. He showed no sense of remorse for his actions whilst the rest of the country made huge sacrifices, and the sheer contempt in expecting the public to beleive his eyesight bullsh!t story was clearly a case of boo hoo cry me a river plebs. This was the moment the whole we are in this together crashed and burned. He should have been sacked there and then.
Edit oh and I forgot to mention that he travelled with his wife and kid in a car whilst he should have been in total isolation mode as he was covid +ve at the time.

I’m sorry.

If this is such a deadly disease... if people consciously put their lives in harms way, because some bloke they never met bent the rules, that would be on the

Or, (like reality) this is no where near the disease we are being told but paralysed on a path of action?

Interestingly, now he has gone, Govt reps will be in GMB. Matters not but an obvious shift

Full blown subversion more like.
Fortunately for him it's not a crime in this country.
In the People's Republic he would probably be executed in the village square.

That could well have become the defining point of Johnson’s term as PM. By not sacking Cummings at the time he displayed a clear lack of judgement and leadership that, let’s be honest, has been apparent all through his tenure as PM so far. It sent a very clear message to the country that it was Cummings and not Johnson who was pulling the strings. It has taken this long and no doubt a lot of ear bending from his latest sperm receptacle to realise that his authority vanished long ago and he needed to do something to try and get it back. Cummings showed his contempt by leaving by the front door with the infamous cardboard box. The problem that Johnson has now is that, with Cummings calling the shots, he and his cabinet will be exposed and will have to get by using their own wits, something in very short supply in this government. Watch as the odious and slippery Gove starts to position himself as Johnson’s replacement.

I read these stories about Gove taking over.

He tried to usurp Boris once before and fell flat on his face. He'd be a fool if he tries it again.

Possibly, just possibly, he could take over temporarily if others decide to ditch Johnson (bit like when Howard took over after Duncan Smith) but (like Howard) he is simply too unlikeable to win a general election. He gives 'shifty' a bad name (see Teresa May rolling her eyes recently at one of his more ridiculous lies) and he would never in a million years hold onto those 'Northern wall' seats.

If Boris can get a Brexit deal and get the vaccine rolled out in the Spring, he'll have 3 1/2 years still in which to change people's impression of him as a bumbling fool.

If he does it's not by much. His star has certainly fallen sharply since his election victory a year ago.
