Brilliant result. At long last. Those last few minutes felt like they would never end.

Couldn't be happier.

Full credit to Saints. I really didn't see us coming back after the two equalisers. Great Christmas present and well done Saints. A superb result away from home at a good side.

Great result and a lot of effort.

Last 15 was a bit nervy and I couldn't understand why Walcott didn't come off earlier. I know it's easy to keep blaming Walcott, but he constantly seems to go 'awol'. Today was no different, where he hardly made a contribution.

The defending was also suspect at times, but let's celebrate the win.

I think Dawson should have been sent off, regardless of whether you consider it a foul outside or the trip in the box. He looked like the last man ?

Well done Bednerak. Keeps Antonio onside and one of my the best strikers in the PL was completely unmarked.

Well it was Forster actually who was shoving him back onside, which in the end is what made him onside

Was never a pen but defo take it!

It was a pen, as he’s fouled Broja outside the box and then fell over which is how he’s tripped over Broja when falling over himself, hence why no card was given but a pen was

A great result for soo many different reasons today! As yeah the defending wasn’t too great, but then again they were both goals where at least it wasn’t just one players faults. Also Walcott was his usual self and showed no threat, and Forster showed everyone of why he’s worse than McCarthy as his distribution was soo poor and his decisions for coming out/not, at set prices just summed it up, and was really lucky that we didn’t concede.

But on the positive side, we’ve managed to walk away from a game that most people expected us to loose, with 3 points, and have managed to finally win a game in which we’ve conceded in, as well as Prowse helping to shut up all those controversial idiots saying of how he’s a “fluke” and how he ain’t actually that good, but has shown today of how great he is. Livermento and Walker-Peters were both quality yet again and the same can be said for most of the other lads, most of which put in a great display today, and Ralph did exactly what fans wanted/expected in those last 15 or so minutes with his subs and tactics.
Also nice to see VAR and Friend actually getting the decisions correct today

Fantastic win - albeit nail-biting the last 15 minutes or so. The 6 added minutes didn't help.

All of the other results went our way today too. Bonus.

Merry Christmas indeed!

We've won 5 of the last 8 Premier League games Forster has played in, and, of course his record in cup games is even better. He makes such a massive difference to the team's performance.

Agree - good day for results.

Palace also had Zaha sent off, so they will be F***ed with out him. Crazy 2 yellow cards and stupid push.

Great result that, fortune favoured us but we deserved that after having years of shite decisions against us.

Forster should be our Number 1 , his kicking is still dodgy but seems to be commanding the box, and we get results with him in goal

He's probably the best we have but his game management and decision making are shocking.

He’s not though, so why don’t you drop it as there’s a reason why McCarthy is currently our number 1 (even Caballero is maybe a better than Forster) and today’s performance proved it, as yeah he wasn’t directly at fault for ether of the goals, but he did shove Antonio onside, as well as thumbing over for soo many set pieces and his distribution was abysmal, so how you still rate him is just baffling

And how many of those were over the last 2 seasons or so? As he was lucky then didn’t score in the first half where he was stuck down on the ground after messing up his punch from their corner.

As ever since he had his last full season with us (which was 17/18, when we came 17th) he’s started 10 premier league games, over those 10 games has conceded 26 goals (McCarthy on the other hand has conceded 158 goals over 98 games and (so an average on 1.6 goals a game (which is one less goal than Forster)). Over those 10 games we’ve won 5 and lost 5, with only 2 of those 5 wins having a clean sheet, with both being games where the opponents had 5 shots on target in total (so it’s not like he had a lot to do). His distribution, positioning at set pieces and communication with the defence is shocking, McCarthy though is certainly far from perfect (and I sure do want a new keeper as soon as possible) but at least his distribution is decent enough and he doesn’t fall to the floor at every set piece where he can’t reach out. Sorry but today’s game just showed that he’s certainly not as good as people have been acting and didn’t do any amazing saves whatsoever and showed of where he struggles (which is in too many areas for a PL keeper).
So why would you start the worse keeper (as most football sites have foresters average performance rating worse than McCarthy’s and that’s not me saying that, but the people who do all the stats and such), over the better, along with the fact that the worse keeper is just about to be released as well as being on ridiculous wages and isn’t too happy here? As it makes 0% sense to have him starting all games when McCarthy’s fit again.
