+1 A great point with 10 men against 12 for a lot of the match. Well played Saints. Gritty, determined performance. That's what we want to see more of. Good to see JWP upping his game lately. A goal and an assist against West Ham followed by a corker today. Stick that up your arse I_would!

| Spurs Game Matchday Thread on 17:03 - Dec 28 with 1369 views | Berber | All of the worries, and none of the joy from being there. An excellent point in the end, and an extra day to recover. Salish missing against The Magpies is a concern, hopefully Wilson and St Maximan remain injured. | |

I was one who said JWP should be dropped after his crap form but fair play he’s come back superbly in the last few games and put in a superb shift today.

His form had dropped off big time a few weeks back. Not sure why. Fair play to the lad though for his efforts the last few games. Okay, a penalty at West Ham... but a great free kick onto Jan's head for the winner. Today it wasn't just his cracking goal that stood out. It was his general game play where he kept driving forward at every opportunity - just like the JWP of old.

All get stick but none of them let us down today. 4 points out of two games that looked very tough on paper. Ralph and the squad can feel very happy with their Christmas so far!

We would’ve gone mental if that was us getting it disallowed, but Salisu shouldn’t have been booked first so fûck em

Kane should have been sent off against Liverpool and suspended for this game. Swings and roundabouts

Although I'm sure if that last corner was ours and they had that breakaway at the end he'd have found another 30 seconds or so

I've read somewhere (Clattenberg?) that there was a handball in the build up to the pen so shouldn't have gotvthat far

No that was Salisu’s first booking

| Spurs Game Matchday Thread on 19:21 - Dec 28 with 897 views | cocklebreath | Great effort 2nd half. The ref was useless against Brighton and worse today, the hojlberg dive was bizarre and the advantage he played to us 2nd half when there was clearly no advantage. | |

Correct, it was a handball just before his booking. Could have been interpreted either way. You always feel Salisu is at risk of a 2nd card in games. I dread it when he (Or Romeu) gets a yellow card.

I was there and as Broja broke away, the crowd started to go wild, roaring him on, as we could see a winner coming. Then the players stopped as the ref had apparently blown the final whistle, not that we could hear it amongst the noise of the crowd. I'm not sure the 5 minutes were even up. Normally, a ref wouldn't blow the final whistle in that type of situation but wait a few seconds. It was almost like he didn't want us to score. Then we realized it was the end of the game and another cheer went up because at half-time, most of us expected Spurs to win so, under the circumstances a draw seemed good. We totally bossed the game until we were reduced to 10 men. Spurs' game plan early on was to dive at every opportunity, then mob the ref, with Kane constantly in the ref's ear asking him to give cards to our players, and they were good at it. They must have been practising in training. But it was a great performance from Saints and the home crowd. [Post edited 28 Dec 2021 19:35]

Why are we listening to these two losers, about time we had something go our way. Funny that they don’t look at all the cheating and diving that Son, Kane and Alli did embarrassing to say the least.

I‘m an anorak and have stopwatch on for injury time, and the 5 mins was definitely up. Ref had pointed to his watch when JWP was taking his time over his last corner during the 5 mins, so I was expecting more than 5 but guess denying us more time to allow Broja to complete his run when the additional time came from our slow play was probably right.
