Not seen one.
Looking forward to this (what IS wrong with us?)

All his achievements, and they focus on his sexuality?!!

The general consensus from speaking to fellow fans in the pub beforehand, at the game, and in the pub afterwards, was this is gonna be a long arse season.

I reckon 95% of people I spoke to today thinks we're certs for relegation as things stand

Poll: Shamima Beghum

Fair comment. I wouldn't expect 100%, but I would expect far more effort than today.

Happy to "agree to disagree", though.

Overall, I thought there were some encouraging signs.

What did everyone make of Gubbins?

I can't say I noticed much re Gubbins Brian

But there weren't horrendous ricks and no real wonder tackles.

Dunne definitely took the senior pro role and did more than perhaps he would have done with Dickie beside him.

But Wimbledon were not a threat first half.

Impossible to judge from this display.

Gubbins? He looks far to lightweight to be a centre back. We need another one asap.

I can now see why Warburton didn't think he was good enough. Shame.

Thanks for the feedback, WWC. You were at the game IIRC?

I've liked him since he was a yoof player. I like his passing and coolness in particular. Thought he did well enough today, though I know what you mean about his weight. Hopefully he can develop physically late-on, like Pallister did.

First half pretty good, second half pretty awful.
Can't read too much into it but none of the subs looked better than AFC Wimbledon who I think will be in another League 2 relegation scrap.
Weather was cold and wet and the queues for the beers long no cover.

That is the big worry. Take Chair and Wilock out and that is not even L1 standard.
We are in serious trouble as both those are probably going.

Standard lacklustre pre-season.

Begović looks good, that’s one positive.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much we kept the ball on the ground first half.

As has been pointed out already, if we lose Chair we’re done.

I can’t see there being a big change come Watford. Might take a few games for this team to get going…if they ever do?

Begovic is going to be the difference this year - he’s going to keep us up and in mid tableish

CB needed badly then everything depends on whether we keep chair and willock - think it will make about 6 positions difference

Pedder looks very impressive

BUT "this lot" isn't the final squad at final levels of fitness and organisation.

Don't see that as 'dressing it up" - more factual I think.

Paul, I hope you are right, I really do, but this squad is still a RB, 2 CBs, 2 CMs and 2 strikers away from having the depth to stay up.

We will get 2 more at the most in before any sales and then we have 6 very lose-able games to start the season.

Let's hope it improves massively, but the defence and midfield that conceded 70+ goals is unchanged and even weaker than it was last season.

And upfront,no more than 15 goals in the current lot...

Sorry.

Can we go out yet?

Just back. Great turn out by the fans, had almost half the ground. Atmosphere a bit flat though, much like the game second half.
It’s a friendly so not going to add to what’s already been said on here. Starting XI was pretty much our first team i think will start the season.
Going to be a roller coaster season.

It can only be because people want to say they were right all along . I can’t think of any other reasons to be so negative before the squad is even finalised and the season doesn’t start for a fortnight ..

I haven’t but the film is well worth seeing, 3 hours skipped by.

By the sounds of it, a lot quicker than 90 minutes at Wimbledon.

Pedder put himself about today, lots of energy.

I’m concerned about injuries, the squad is very light, one injury and we’re stuffed!

Crikey Davman you truly exude oodles of positivity.

One centre back, one right back, and one centre mid if we keep what we have required.

So you have us p6 pts 0

For 15 away 70 +

Think he is the one that will break through into first team this year, he has continually progressed since he has been with us and seems to have a little bit about him. Definitely a useful preseason so far for him.

Never knowingly understood

Duke-McKenna looked like he wanted to fight the whole Wimbledon side. Can't accuse of him of not being up for it - I just don't think he quite has the ability for this level, would love him to prove me wrong.

I like the Duke, think (hope) he will get a chance under Ainsworth with Field being the calming influence in the middle

Dav, your first sentence is right, but for competing in the top half.
