I don't know. If you had to say what his style is, what would you say? Passive. Long balls. We barely press. I get we have injuries but we were playing poorly before Christmas too. Today, come out and have a go. We were 14th, they were 16th. Why be so bloody passive in the first half, letting them pass it around where they liked?
Marti was so much better and got so much more out of a worse squad. True, he lost it towards the end but he had Nourry briefing against him. Stephan is Nourry's man. That's pretty terrifying tbh - this style of play is ill-suited to this league. |

I honestly don't think the squad is fit enough to press effectively. It takes a lot of energy to do that.
Compare and contrast our forward press now with when we had Mackie. To be fair, Smyth does press well, though. |  |

The problem is injuries - for two seasons now we’ve had this. Deal with the problem and give the coach and the players the best opportunity to be the best they are.
Surely that’s not rocket science. Sort out the problem QPR board. This performance team has had two seasons now and managed to provide a slow start and a nigh on impossible finish to the season.
Time for a new performance team Lee and Christian. What is the data telling you?? Where are the best fitness coaches in this league or league 2. Time to do the homework and sort it out by the end of the season so the new team are ready for pre-season.
If you don’t, then expect more of the same next season.
And don’t expect to have your best assets fit to sell on to make your/the strategy work. |
