Boro beating Ipswich would be handy and give us a good chance of going up automatic if we can keep winning, as Ipswich have to come down here Tuesday 28th April,
though Boro somehow lost to Pompey at home aint won since pancake day, so the ask is big tbh [Post edited 17 Apr 12:37]

The bookies have been too generous with the odds on us and now they've switched to too tight. The reality is that automatic promotion is still very unlikely and the play offs are always a bit of a lottery.
Things are fantastic for us now but could easily go wrong. Imagine an injury for Larin (touch wood no). That would leave Ross as the only no. 9 and he won't be able to play two games a week. That would really throw a spanner in the works as we have no other good options. I think we've seen how that works out before.
I'd say fair odds for us are about 3/2 which is fantastic given where we were, but there are still a lot of hurdles to get over. I agree that Millwall look a decent bet at 11/4. |  | | |

Pressure does odd things to teams
I still remember us going to Boro in the penultimate game of the championship season when Nigel Adkins was in charge. Billy Sharp put us 1 up early on against a team with nothing to play for and we lost 2-1 in a really disappointing performance

Unfortunately, the games are running out just too soon given the disaster of the Will Still era.
If it were just ourselves and Ipswich in contention I think we would probably pip them for second place.Now there are simply too many variables what with Millwall, Middlesbrough and Hull still being in the mix.
It’s going to be the lottery of the playoffs for us I feel which given the quality of our squad and current form should hold no fears.
