Implicit in this is that Saints have waived their rights to 14 days to respond.
Half full interpretation could be that the EFL have to look like they were prepared and had a contingency that expulsion could happen and recognize it will require material reworking of ticket sales, fixture dates and even venue. However, the combination of Saints agreeing to less than 14 days and EFL putting up a half hearted show (ie they still expect to go ahead as scheduled) implies there's an understanding we are not being expelled.

What about the right to an appeal? Let's say we get kicked out. Surely we would have the right to an appeal and if we do, what happens then?
There is surely no way they can kick us out, while we have an appeal in process else they would be liable for paying us hundreds of millions.
Unless we are guilty as hell and we know we are and we are going to just lead guilty and accept our lot. |  | | |

I'll admit to having an"Every silver lining has a cloud" mindset but I can see us getting kicked out
The court of public opinion has already decided that we're guilty, had 5live on the radio driving home and the had some bloke called Dale Johnson on, plenty of articles about this by him on the BBC website in the last few days. He basically said we'd been spying, no allegedly and could possibly be kicked out, no context or balance to what he said. Probably clutching at straws but another with a northern accent so I have to wonder where his loyalties lie and is he being truly fair and balanced in his reporting of this matter
At the risk of BBC bashing their report on the match on Tuesday was pretty poor too with a fair amount of false narrative. According to their article our celebrations at the end were muted as there was no pitch invasion and most supporters left very quickly after the final whistle.

In all the confusion one thing is absolutely certain in my opinion :-
The E F L will have a final of some description played, simply because they will want their share of the match proceeds. This fact rules out the possibility of us being kicked out and promotion to The Premier League being given to Hull without a ball being kicked as some others have suggested.
Further, the E F L will have negotiated with various outlets the T V rights for the game to be played on the 23rd. Failure to meet their obligations in this regard will be unthinkable to them in reality given the legal ramifications that would follow.
It’s now a question of who Hull will be playing on the 23rd and I suspect that the E F L are delighted that this decision rests with an independent panel because it gives them a scapegoat should proceedings subsequently be issued by either ourselves or Middlesbrough after the 23rd.
My own view is that on balance we will not be playing at Wembley on the 23rd, our place having been taken by Middlesbrough. I say this because I imagine that those that sit on the panel will have no knowledge or interest in professional football and will view the problem accordingly. If we have admitted to breaking the E F L’s rules the fact that ultimately we beat Middlesbrough on the basis of separate results played days apart will have no bearing on their decision whatsoever.

Hopefully Saints have gone about this charge the right way , fully cooperating with the EFL and not saying any information to the papers and letting the powers that be make their decisions.
Unlike Boro the victims who are leaking every bit of evidence they have ( that will help them) and getting all their influential people in the media saying how hard done by they are and how they would have won etc.
The trouble is will any hearing be swayed by the public feeling. | |
