Its simple, we are holding out to save the club around £600k in compensation plus his wages for around 3 weeks, if he had been appointed two weeks ago before the Liverpool game he would have been able to do little in terms of the squad with all the players off on their holidays until late june.

Clubs who know what and who they want and with a clear plan do not faff about for weeks appointing who they want. I am not convinced by RM at all but to delay the appointment of "A" manager, whoever it is, like this, when we now have less than 2 months to the start of the season is another bad error of judgement.
Meanwhile, players that we may want to try and convince to stay are looking elsewhere and clubs are starting to make approaches. How can we convince a player that we have a plan in place when we don't have the plan in place? It is another 9 days to 14th June - another 2 working weeks lost.
If the club are looking into another potential (and hopefully stronger option) manager then good, but for heavens sake they need to get on with it. | | | |
