| Top Weekend 10:36 - Dec 8 with 1121 views | SaintNick | Not only another Saints win, but I went to two gigs, The first on Friday night at Shepherds Bush Empire I saw one of Liverpool's finest bands Shack, a very good performance although I did think they missed out playing a few of their best songs. On Saturday I went to the 1865 in Southampton to see Sham 69, i had mixed thoughts of it, on one hand the songs they played were great and all the top ones were present, but they only played for 45 minutes which I though was a bit short for a so called man of the people Jimmy Pursey. On that note Pursey himself who put Sham 69 up as the peoples band in 1977/78 and not punk rock posers, was dressed in head to toe in designer punk gear which I take was quite expensive. | |

As hot a sauna as I have ever stood in for a gig. Blinding gig though, well worth getting home at 3.30am after a rail replacement bus from Southampton to Bournemouth.

The age demographic was about late 50's upwards, a few of them did pogo around a bit, but not many lol

I must be well out of touch because I've never heard of any of these bands & I'm sure that I'm not alone on that score. But you cannot beat a good live Gig.

I thought Natalie's Party and Beautiful would be part of the set list, but nope (though Id had a couple and may have missed them...) They did do Meant To Be, which is one of my favourites of their's and a cover of Love's 'A House is not a Motel', which pleased me [Post edited 8 Dec 18:20]

I had a feeling Noel Gallagher would be there, but I didn't see him at all. Plus I think I have already lost the T Shirt I bought there. Christ knows how

I read the biography about Lawrence and wanted to see his band, also Forever Breathes The Lonely Word by Felt is an excellent lp Shame it was £8.50 a pint though

It was a good night out, yes the beer was £8.50 but you bought 3 pints and got 1 for free, so £25.50 for 4 pints wasn't bad for London, obviously not much of an offer if you were on your own
