I do agree with a lot of your critique on Peretz from this game.

However, he would have looked very silly indeed if their first disallowed goal had been allowed to stand.

It was definitely his error in belting the ball at Manning.

We were very lucky that it was deemed to be a moving ball.

Don't agree that Fulham "battered us". Or at least it didn't seem like that. We hit the bar, had a one on one, plenty of chances that should have seen us battering them.

I agree. Fulham dominated the ball but we of all clubs should know that possession doesn't win football matches. We had the better chances.

Some of us said from the beginning of our PL season that this is the way we should have played instead of Rusty's dumb attempt to dominate possession. Hopefully the lesson has been learned if we ever get promoted again.

I stand by the battered viewpoint, yes they dominated the ball, they had almost 5 times as many attempts on goal and our only chances were on the break, add to that our keeper was man of the match and they dominated the game and kept pouring forward

They battered us but we never caved in

They really didnt batter us. An example of battering us was that 1-0 win at leeds many years ago, when Kelvin was unbeatable that day.

Fulham had a lot of wayward shots from out side the box, where as we had 4 or 5 gilt edge chances. Think Fellows, Larin, Leo (2) and Azaz.

Our game plan was perfect

Exactly my thoughts. This style of football is direct, fast paced, attacking football that is a joy to watch. I don't think any of us care if we have had less than 50 per cent possession. All I remember from yesterday is being off my seat, watching us have some really good chances and watching exciting football with a great chance of winning the game. On another day, we get 4 or 5, just like we did against QPR. You don't get anything from passing left and right woth 80 per cent possession for 90 minutes. Long may it continue.

We had by far "the best" chances. Fulham had a lot of shots from outside the box and more possession but that doesn't win games. On another day, Sciensa scores that chance, we don't hit the bar , it goes in, Fellows was also one on one. If we were 3 nil up, could you say we were battered then? Fulham didn't really have any clear cut chances, we did. We did a job on them, restricted their chances and won the game.

Peretz made 5 decent stops, we threw ourselves in front of the ball at other occasions, they had two disallowed goals.

We went on the break, yes it was a good game plan, but it involved them spending most of the game in our own final third and not letting them score.

Just because we had a few breakaway chances doesn't mean that we weren't battered,

It was backs to the walls stuff for us

Nick, when you keep saying that we only had chances from breakaways you seem to downplay their value. I'm sure Russell Martin would agree with you, but actually breakaway chances tend to be the best chances because that's when you have space.

If you're attacking a well organised deep defence, you need to have real quality or be brilliant in the air to score because you have no space. Fulham didn't have that quality and neither do most teams, apart from the very best. That's why the team with "a few breakaway chances" is often the team that has the best chances and often the team that wins. If we need to be "battered" to create those chances then I'd be happy to be "battered" in that way in every game. But I don't think it's the right word to describe the team that created the best chances.

Pretty every forum post I've read and the guys on TSP all said we deserved the win...no mention of us being battered.

I can only remember him making 1 decent stop and that was when he took the ball full on in the face. The others were pretty routine. Fulham were just fiddling around with the ball rather than using it, it never felt like Fulham would actually score.

Btw What has two goals ruled out got to do with anything?
