Scummy club with scummy fans. Once again, player power rules at that club and Tommy has lost the dressing room. Chelsea lost 1-0 to Dinamo Zagreb last night - a team who have won just 2 Champions League games out of the 33 that they've ever played. Mason Mount has been slaughtered for "disappearing" during the game last night. He's not alone. Look at their dreadful defending at St Mary's the other night too. Zidane & Pochettino are also being linked. It's the same old manager merry-go-round.

Chelsea will keep sacking managers as long as they keep letting their players rule the roost, they are always going to buy their way out of things whether its players or manager issues

They spent £300M in the Summer... not including a last-minute ridiculous £50M bid for Lavia of course. Aubameyang has egg on his face after his words about joining Chelsea & teaming up with Tommy once again. And Broja, who replaced him after an hour last night, has no doubt just seen his chances of regular game time drop even further once a new manager comes in. Glad the likes of Tino saw the light and moved here. As you say, any new manager is going to buy their way to success & your chances of playing in the first team, as a nipper, will just plummet even further.

I have to admit he isn't a particularly likeable character though.

| Tuchel sacked on 15:43 - Sep 7 with 2525 views | Saintsforeverj | As has been said, player power (greedy, trouble making players just like Ings, Bednerak, VD) and the rest thinking they are Gods, getting another manager sacked. That's why we shouldn't automatically blame Ralph for disgustingly behaved players, who don't give their all on the pitch. Again, another manager, well regarded, stabbed in the back by his 500 grand a week players. It happens at Chelsea every few months. Edit: And it looks like Potter will go to Chelsea. A smaller club that gets a good manager just ends up losing them because the world loyalty doesn't exist anymore. [Post edited 7 Sep 2022 15:50]

I though they'd be more self entitled and expect a 'Zidane status' manager as a minimum.

| Tuchel sacked on 16:43 - Sep 7 with 2458 views | 1885_SFC | Good luck to Potter if he goes there - especially with all those massive ego's to manage. If they don't like him then they won't play for him & he'll be sacked by Christmas. What he's done at Brighton is nothing short of tremendous. Due to my work, I am often down that way & know several Brighton fans quite well and they all love the bloke. They're not stupid though & realise things in football change quickly... especially when £££ is involved. Chelsea deserve Zidane of Poch... manager's with big egos managing players with even bigger egos. Potter won't last long there. He'll need time - the one thing Chelsea never give any of their managers. | |

I actually thought we would go for Potter - I think he's a good manager whose philosophy fits with Saints. I'm not sure he's the answer for Chelsea either.
| Tuchel sacked on 16:54 - Sep 7 with 2438 views | saint68 | Amazing that Chelsea want a manager that Brighton fans were booing just 8 months ago...they couldn't get a home win for love nor money...the mob is fickle, rings true. One upside If he goes is that Brighton will suffer as a consequence and Potter will be loaded but jobless by January/February....he'd be best served staying put in my opinion. Manure have never thanked us for getting Atkinson sacked (well it was 4-1 from memory), as he was followed by a certain Mr Ferguson! | |

Think of the payoff though ........... Hope he does go though, if reasonably successful it's the warm up for the England job and Brighton may start tumbling a bit and we can get back to the top of the South Coast pinnacle I am also down that way quite a lot but tend not to raise the subject of football much with those that I know are Seagulls fans, though may raise the subject if he does leave But wasn't Ralph linked with them after the successful period we had with him?

£16M pay-off Chelsea would have to pay Brighton apparently... near enough what they're having to pay Tuchel in compensation. There's no doubt Potter has a big future. I'm just not sure it he should jeopardize it at scummy Chelsea. Then again, what do I know...

To be fair I think Chelsea's owners are actually scrapping the big name big ego manager route and looking for someone solid and reliable who isnt a madman. I'm not sure that Potter is big enough and strong enough to tame Chelsea's dressing room, I think it could be a big overhaul

It’s said to be a more “off the pitch” sort of thing, and was supposedly gonna happen irrelevant of that champions league result in Tuesday. As it also sounds like that new Chelsea owner wanted Ronaldo, it’s just Tuchel didn’t as he knew he’d f up the changing room (exactly like he’s done at every club since leaving Real). As there’s a lot being said of how this new owner wants to be the one doing most of what you’d expect a manager to do, hence why they want a quieter, more “obedient” one to replace Tuchel
