As has been said, player power (greedy, trouble making players just like Ings, Bednerak, VD) and the rest thinking they are Gods, getting another manager sacked. That's why we shouldn't automatically blame Ralph for disgustingly behaved players, who don't give their all on the pitch. Again, another manager, well regarded, stabbed in the back by his 500 grand a week players. It happens at Chelsea every few months.
Edit: And it looks like Potter will go to Chelsea. A smaller club that gets a good manager just ends up losing them because the world loyalty doesn't exist anymore. [Post edited 7 Sep 2022 15:50]

What he's done at Brighton is nothing short of tremendous. Due to my work, I am often down that way & know several Brighton fans quite well and they all love the bloke. They're not stupid though & realise things in football change quickly... especially when £££ is involved.
Chelsea deserve Zidane of Poch... manager's with big egos managing players with even bigger egos. Potter won't last long there. He'll need time - the one thing Chelsea never give any of their managers. | |

Amazing that Chelsea want a manager that Brighton fans were booing just 8 months ago...they couldn't get a home win for love nor money...the mob is fickle, rings true.

Hope he does go though, if reasonably successful it's the warm up for the England job and Brighton may start tumbling a bit and we can get back to the top of the South Coast pinnacle

To be fair I think Chelsea's owners are actually scrapping the big name big ego manager route and looking for someone solid and reliable who isnt a madman.

It’s said to be a more “off the pitch” sort of thing, and was supposedly gonna happen irrelevant of that champions league result in Tuesday. As it also sounds like that new Chelsea owner wanted Ronaldo, it’s just Tuchel didn’t as he knew he’d f up the changing room (exactly like he’s done at every club since leaving Real). As there’s a lot being said of how this new owner wants to be the one doing most of what you’d expect a manager to do, hence why they want a quieter, more “obedient” one to replace Tuchel | |
