| Betting Suspended On Next Manager To Be Sacked on 20:36 - Oct 5 with 1832 views | ElijahK | I just don’t get why they’d do it now and not back on Sunday/Monday? As we’re just about to face Man City, so whether you’re Ralph in or out why would you sack him just before then? As for the people that want him to stay, it’s another chance for him to show his worth, and for any that want him gone, it’s a game where we’ll most likely loose by a bit and can just end his time here. But even if people wanted him gone before the City game, why do it like 48 hours before KO? That part for me just doesn’t add up so unless they’re gonna be announcing it just after the City game (which might turn out to be a bit like the Atkins shambles (although on the long run it did pay off) then I don’t trust what they’re saying… | |

He's literally sucked the life out of all those around him..the players are devoid of intent or direction..so feeding them to Haaland and Co this weekend was not only futile it was possibly a beating that would eclipse Ralph's previous legacies.. His time is in fairness well overdue

| Betting Suspended On Next Manager To Be Sacked on 21:52 - Oct 5 with 1709 views | A1079 | I remain torn as to whether I want RH to be sacked. Though I think his credit has gone on the back of the last season dreadful run and less than inspiring start to this season, the timing now does not make sense and for me (why not do it last Sunday if the results were the issue), the decision would be better made at the stage of the world cup. I will be disappointed to see it end like this. I think he is a decent guy who made a difference to start with but he has overseen some dreadful results and runs and he does not seem to learn from his mistakes. The ultimate question is does anyone believe he can improve the team and the results long term? I am not sure anyone truly believes he can - including the players and whilst replacing him does not guarantee improvement to not do anything eventually becomes not an option. So, if he is on the brink of going today, tomorrow or after the Man City game I suspect it is less to do with the results or the supporters but potentially the complete loss of confidence in him by the players and a fast deteriorating relationship between RH and his playing staff. Not that I really know and it is just a hunch. | | | |

If he'd gone in the summer Romeu would still be at the club... Given the choice..I'd prefer Romeu in the dressing room and Hassenhutl on a hill top in Austria.

But then why not sack him on Sunday/Monday? As I’m not on about whether eh should/shouldn’t go on this thread, but simply talking about whether all this about him being sacked tonight or tomorrow is true or not. As why wait until now? As he almost certainly wasn’t sacked yesterday or it would’ve gotten out be today, and I just don’t see him getting sacked before Saturdays game. And even then unless we loose by like over 5 goals, can’t see him getting sacked after this game, as it’s always a free hit as a 2-1 loss is actually a fairly decent result for now Man City have been doing at home recently. As it’s not until we play West Ham that anyones expecting anything… So I personally don’t believe all this media nonsense, and unless we were to loose to Man City by like 5 or more, don’t see him getting sacked until after the West Ham game.

The players have been putting up with his wacky shyte for too long.. the rumours in August were from a now departed player and a couple more still at the club..he's lost the dressing room as per last season..the coaches and board now see the pattern returning from last season..his goose is cooked..way too late in my opinion though

Tend to agree with you there saint68 on Romeu. I was very disappointed to see him go and I believe it was a fatal error of judgement. We needed his experience in the team at a key time. Lawrie McMenemy and even Chris Nicoll recognised the value of mixing experience with youth. Personally, I think RH should have been replaced at the end of last season and we should have started the season with a new manager, new coaching team and some new players. The run at the end of last season and the season before were dreadful. It is just now (if it happens) seems to be odd timing - why not after the Villa game and before the international break? Why not after the game on Saturday?

It would be a huge mistake to keep him on while we look for his replacement. He has absolutely no authority.

Agreed. Complete madness to string it out. Treat the guy with some respect. Sack him, pay him off, don’t expect him to still work for a while on death row. Caretaker manager for the City game is not a disaster.

| Betting Suspended On Next Manager To Be Sacked on 08:54 - Oct 6 with 1280 views | saint901 | I've defended RH in the past but am not too proud to say that he has tested my ability to understand his tactics well beyond my limits and I'm in the camp that says he has to go. A poor result against City (and last season we were unlucky not to beat them at their place) is not a standard measure in the PL. They are just in a different league to the rest. A poor home result against WH and Arsenal however should be enough for the owners to see what is happening. (I'd hope we'd beat Bournemouth away). Equally good results against them may see his stay extended. The PL season is suspended November 15th (?) There are 22 games left when it resumes. Realistically the 16 games to the break will see us to perhaps 12 points? We therefore need 28 points from 22 games after the break. The moneyball team is all about statistics and they will know that the points to games ratio post break is beyond RH's history and on present form, hope. Searching for a new manager in the World Cup break and getting him (or her?) in to work with the players who stay home in that month seems sensible to me. | | | |

Thats interesting, so you would prefer Romeu to have seen out the last season at the club and then left on a free transfer next summer rather than signing Romeu Lavia for £10 million and now worth £50 million. This seems a good piece of transfer business to me, but you see it as a reason to sack the manager.

Nick - why couldn't we have both Lavia and Romeu? Yet again, another simplistic argument in a desperate attempt to defend the indefensible!

But that’s the point that Nicks making, we probably would have Lavia in the first place if we’d kept Romeu. And even then it’s not like we can really trust all the rumours that many on here/the media make up, as it just doesn’t make sense whilst him wanting to go back home does (hence why soo many players do it towards the end of their careers)
