CARABAO CUP QUARTER-FINAL DRAW

Charlton Athletic
Leicester City
Manchester United
Newcastle United
Nottingham Forest
Southampton
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Manchester City/Liverpool

Charlton home or away would be good but would be a great away day quarter final tie. Forest would be good too. Obviously we want to avoid Newcastle, City or Liverpool.

Charlton is the obvious draw being the lowest ranked club in the competition and preferably at home given the situation with train strikes etc

As we know with Saints a brilliant performance is often followed by a dire one and vice versa, so you can never be sure what you get next

City have Chelsea in the FA Cup a few days before this tie and then they face United away a few days after, it might be fair to assume that this game might not be the top priority of the three games they play that week.

They could put their reserves in against us and still win 5-0.

As you know from another post, City put their first team out against us recently and only won 4-0, so there is no evidence to suggest their reserves could get 5, if so Guardiola is getting his team selections very wrong

Anyway that is football these days, its gone to the dogs, enjoy it for what it is, not what is was 30 years ago when the smaller teams could compete.

Another no-show from Maitland-Niles & Adam Armstrong and City may as well send their women's team down to do the job.

play a radical 9-0-1 formation and hope we can take them to penalties is our only chance

That last paragraph, sensible, accurate post!

Not as positive as your usual written word Nick, but very accurate
