The first goal in the end of season Bobby Firmino testimonial showed this lot can’t play possession football, so a complete squad overhaul is needed.
In my eyes possession football isn’t square and backwards passing in our own half which we excel at. | |

Possession football requires:
- decent technical skills
- game intelligence (e.g. knowing not to pass it square across your own box without looking)
- intelligent movement that creates space
If they haven't got the technical skills now, they never will, but a lot of the rest of that can be coached. Maybe, just maybe, RM (plus staff) is someone who can do that better than Selles. That's about all we can hope for. |  | | |
