1. My, it's a grim place. Went in 4 pubs on the Friday afternoon / evening, and would not wish to go back in any of them.
2. Why do they have what looks like a giant condom as a monument outside the ground?
3. Weather was awful after the game. Not quite in the Derby 2007 stakes, but relentlessly wet and cold. Got back to Poole at about 9.30pm, and it was about 10 degrees warmer. And dry.
4. Had the unfortunate experience of a load of jubilant Boscombe fans getting on the Cross Country train at Reading, which seemed a weird detour from Fulham, but there you are.
5. Alfie House from the Echo was staying in our digs. Good grief, he's a tall chap. |  |

1. I could have told you not to stay in Middlesbrough, I have been on a friday night, it is like Black Eye Friday at Xmas in Barnsley but every Friday.

3. I have never been so cold at a football ground, I pity anyone who decided to wear shorts.
4. You should have just reminded them of how jubilant Hitler was in 1938 about travelling across europe in the nest year and how it went for him.
5. I would guess that your opinion of how tall Alfie House is if you have never met him is dependent on how high you are holding your copy of the Echo/I pad whilst reading his articles, I am usually sat down so i have always assumed he is a dwarf |  |

Blimey that took a turn on point 4 Nick! Tbf I’d quite like to see Bournemouth get champions league, would be a nice change to the normal teams that get it and they deserve something for how well they’ve played recently. Opinions about Bournemouth depend on whether you're from the Test side or the Itchen side of Southampton. I'm from the Itchen side so, like you, I 'd like to see Bournemouth qualify for Europe, but Nick is very much from the Test side and, of course, Pat is from Poole, so their view is different. They had a minutes silence for him which was respected by most of the crowd, but a sizable minority chanted abuse during the silence.

Yeah I was there for that game, remember thinking it was really strange they were trying to start something as we mostly thought of them as being ok.
Have to be honest beyond that I barely gave it a thought. It’s not even like I like or dislike them I just think of them as another team like Swindon or reading. Happen to be close but that’s about it.
Would still like them to get champions league though as I think clubs their size getting it is good for the game | | | |

Oh mate, that was the coldest I’ve ever been at a football match. I genuinely thought I was going to get hypothermia. It was so cold I had a hot drink instead of a beer at half-time. I basically ran back to my mate’s car and begged him to put the heated seats on full blast. |  |
