Ridiculously fortunate tonight. I just hope it cocks up their League form.

Well done on beating Exeter Reserves. Exeter took the gamer so seriously that they made 10 changes from Saturday and had 4 players in the starting line up that had never played for the first team before. Pompey on the other hand played their first team and still struggled.

What was the real attendance 10k, it looked empty on the goals highlights.

This is the winning goal. All the people in black are cardboard cut-outs

51000 I think, as we had practically every seat in club Wembley. We were also declined more tickets when we asked for them due to segregation issues.

But have a great day out at the worthless paint pot/baby wipe trophy

This isn't a dig, but I honestly feel that if your fans made more noise, you would have had more success over the years.

This isn’t a dig but I honestly feel that if your fans didn’t boo so much at the final whistle your players may feel a bit more respected and loved and you may actually achieve promotion and play amongst the elite. you would have to do a bit better than last time you reached the premier league as you just bottled it and fell apart completely, being one of the worst teams on record.

Last time we got there, we were on a roll. We had two consecutive top ten finishes, and would have been pushing for a third, (something your club has only ever achieved 3 times) when the owner had to start selling players after the French government seized his assets.

Booing shoes passion, it shows you care. Soton would even lift the decibel levels if they tried it more often.

Correct. 44000 allocated and about 7k in club Wembley. You should quite easily double that with faaasands locked outside considering you are rivals with Real Madrid with your trophy haul.

Very commendable. When attendances are laughable it's due to a passionate "boycott" from the most hardcore fans and then the lesser ones who do turn up passionately boo to emphasize the point.

Ive posted this before but here goes again- taken from the Wembley reports.
Saints v Carlile JPT att 73476
Ticket Sales Saints Official Sales 44000
Carlile 12500 (returned 12500)
Sponcers 2000
Club Wembley Saints 10000+
Carlile 1000
4000 Unable to determine
So Saints had at least 54000 at Wembley
The club also asked to buy 10000 more on a g'tee sale ( around 4000 on a waiting list)
But I guess facts mean nothing

The U23 sides are now out, so I guess fans will go if they want to, especially older fans with youngsters. Lots of fans will keep up the boycott though.

Right here in Hansard

https://api.parliament.uk/historic-hansard/commons/1984/oct/30/southampton-conta

and a quote on the fact that Southampton dockers picketed Portsmouth who were breaking the strike

"By the second week there were over half of the DLS dockers (almost 8,000 out of 13,000) out on strike and almost none of the non-DLS dockers. Then John Connolly said that although the strike was over “scab labour”, it could be resolved through lower coke quotas for Ravenscraig.

In other words, the question of preserving the Dock Labour Scheme was being quietly shelved once again. During this second week, there were quite a few attempts to picket out the working ports, with Southampton dockers unsuccessfully picketing Felixstowe, Portsmouth and Poole"

So, if there were no unions at the Port of Portsmouth, how are they scabbing?

And by the way, that article mentions Felixstowe carrying on as per usual.

They took ships that were breaking the strike in Southampton, as i'm sure you know, and yes that article mentions felixstow, but the quote mentions Portsmouth, as do other articles.

So once more.

So, apart from equating a fan boycott on PL youth teams after the youth teams are out of the competition to crossing picket lines.

You know accuse Portsmouth workers of 'scabbing'?

The meaning of the word 'scab' came to be applied specifically to workers who crossed picket lines to take the place of striking workers.

How were the Portsmouth workers (who were non-union) taking the place of striking workers?
