Unsurprisingly ripping Bojo and his ship of fools a new one!
Hancock should have been fired for lying about 15 odd things, no plan, lockdown should have been earlier
Telling us what we all knew

But hey lets keep voting the idiots in shall we

Why is Cummings getting so much airtime again this morning? He is a former government advisor, no more no less. The BBC is obsessed by him, probably because they know this government hates the BBC and giving clowns like Cummings and not so long ago Farrage so much coverage must really piss off many in Whitehall. What gets me is Cummings can say what he likes, but he’s a proven liar so anything he says is questionable anyway. He’s yesterday’s news but seems desperate to keep himself in the public domain. For me the golden rule of a government advisor is to be discrete. As soon as Cummings broke that golden rule everything coming out of his motormouth is all but worthless,

You can watch him and make your own mind up whether he's lying or not. If he's lying he's going to come a big cropper when (if) the public enquiry comes.

He was in the room with Johnson throughout. I'm quite interested in hearing what was going on.

Too many people still don't seem to have twigged quite how flawed a character Boris Johnson is. Nothing to do with his politics. Like Trump, just fatally flawed as a person.

Cummings showed he was untrustworthy with his behaviour in the lockdown, I think everyone knows that Johnson is a flawed character, perhaps that for some they feel that is a good thing, it almost makes him human as lets face it most of us are flawed. (Im no fan of his i should add)

I don't buy the argument that we're all flawed therefore it doesn't matter if a seriously flawed person is PM.

It suggests that the role of PM is just a bit of laugh, rather than a role that has huge consequences for people's lives and deaths.

And it's not how the rest of the world works. We usually like to have people in jobs that are able to do them competently.

For many due to his propensity for dithering during the pandemic.

He has provided text evidence and knows who else was in the room when these things were said and who would have heard them too. There have been other leaks from meetings which back up Johnson’s words and behaviour. Yes, Cummings is acting like a spurned partner, but he certainly knows where the bodies are buried. If Johnson is squeaky clean surely there would be some evidence? All we get is denials. I’m not a betting man but I think you can safely put your mortgage on Cummings version of events being more believable than Johnson’s.
I thought that we were a bit more savvy than the Americans but it seems Johnson can do no wrong in some people’s eyes just as Trump was beyond reproach.

I wasn't meaning to make the connection to the huge number of deaths.

Would you be happier with 'hopelessly flawed' ?

More revelations that ring true tonight. It was very clear that Johnson didn’t have a clue how to deal with things last year hence much dithering. There were also lots of rumours coming from various sources that his girlfriend was trying to pull the strings at the time. I think we even joked on here about who was running the country, Dom or Carrie?

Well that was some interview! Not sure just how to process it but two things are very clear. 1. Boris Johnson should be nowhere near no 10 Downing Street. 2. Dominic Cummings should have been nowhere near no 10 Downing Street.

Glad you’re happy with Cummings now you’ve got over his trip to Bernards castle.
As the recent polls suggest without doubt the public has accepted a lot of Boris’s idiosyncrasies, so far anyway. Some will dismiss the bitter rantings of a sacked egotist.

Our PMs are typically well educated but not business savvy. It is interesting to ponder how others might have coped in similar circumstances. Corbyn May Brown -hell no chance, Starmer probably too slow to react I think.

I not happy with him at all. The fact that Johnson employed him in the first place shows how incompetent he is. Did you see the interview? You dismiss what he says but what he says is very damning. You really need to pay attention. Basically our PM has sat back whilst his latest wife and his advisor fought over which one of them was going to run the country!

Fascinating viewing.

I dare say he has been economical with the truth here and there, but I don't doubt the overall message.

And, for those who didn't watch it, the main message is not anti-Boris. For Cummings, it's just a given that Boris is useless, has no plan and shouldn't be in the job.

No, the main message is that our entire political system is f*cked. And even if you are Boris' biggest fan, that might be something worth listening to. I can't see why Cummings would have any interest in saying that if he didn't think it was true. It explains what he was doing working with Boris in the first place and also why he left.

‘You really need to pay attention’
If you resort to rudeness it’s clear you’re losing the argument.
I’m afraid it’s useless trying to discuss with you because you are cemented in to left wing dogma.

Cummings gets income from his blog. You might like to bear that in mind. Nothing he says particularly surprises me. I agree that our political system is also weak, as is our civil service.

I am sorry if you thought I was being rude, it wasn’t my intention. It is just frustrating that these people seem to get an easy ride from the British public. My problems with both Johnson and Cummings has nothing to do with left wing dogma. For a start I am liberal and a centrist, but neither of these characters should be in or near power. Cummings interview on the BBC last night was damning both for Johnson and himself. He clearly wants to take Johnson down, with good reason, but also has exposed himself as a dangerous unelected megalomaniac who thought he could run the country to his own agenda whilst not having to go through the inconvenience of getting himself elected. The problems don’t end there. Having persuaded Johnson to get rid of Cummings, Johnson is now taking direction from his wife. I’m sure all of those who voted for Johnson didn’t expect to get a puppet for PM. The bloke is clearly not cut out to be PM, let alone a cabinet minister. He gets a pass because we are too used to blokes who speak a bit posh and can quote Greek classics and a bit of Latin. If this bloke was running our football club with grief Lowe got would be like a picnic in comparison. The interview should have skewered him. Instead we get yet another story about migrant dingies (important but hardly front page news as it goes on daily) as the main front page coverage. As said before, a nation of cap doffers.

Fair enough Soggy. I'm frustrated too and I agree with a lot of your latest comments. I think current politics is so flaming adversarial by MPs and journalists; if one side says yes the other always says no.

As regards Johnstone's getting directions from his wife, can you imagine? er... um?
