Aside from the ticket prices and being a 'Selling side', why else would people stay away?

Easy:- VAR !!!

VAR has utterly ruined football as a spectator sport.
I'd rather watch Romsey.
Later this month I'm going to The Valley with my mate (Bolton supporter).
Used to love going there with Saints, even my old mum used to come up on the train.

I think I am 'done' with the Premier League, England etc.

When you can watch every game pretty easily on a stream, it makes it easier.

I’m at a gig tomorrow evening with my missus. I’m getting too old to do football and a gig in the same day.

I think the football as a spectacle is quite dull. All teams play to much tippy tappy rubbish along the back line, up the wing, back to the centre line for more knocking about in the back line..... Bores me to death.

I agree with this - it seems now all top players are coached the same way and told to play the same way - it’s like playing a football computer game where you see the same moves over and over again

After 2 or 3 years of ruining football VAR now seems to be working how I thought it should only getting involved when there is a clear mistake . How long that will last is anyone’s guess .

It will last until it deprives the big 6 of points they believe should be there's .already you have Klopp and Co moaning about good old fashioned defending...basically the soppy pundits will have enough of it and then use media pressure to make the Refs second guess themselves and we'll be back to the shyte status quo that we'd all have had more than a gutfull of.

i happened to catch a bit of the England poland game, just when Kane scored.

That goal came from Hart throwing it quickly out down the left to Shaw (i think) and he sprinted down the wing and got to the edge of the box then passed it to Grealish. Grealish could have crossed it, but he went back to Shaw. They then kept tippy tappying the ball back to each other, before it then getting intercepted as it was heading back to the halfway line. The ball breaks to Kane who smashes it in from distance.
The break at pace reminded me of southampton, get to the oppositions box at pace then dont cross it..... So frustrating

It's like we are flaccid in front of the posts, we need to thrust forward and penetrate the area and shoot...its served Leicester well

They are rather direct and keen to smash it in as quickly as possible.

I think we're stocked with diazopam and beta blockers and prefer to dribble and ball watch

I know this is going to be against the grain, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow and actually seeing a live game. See how many new faces are sat around me and if there's any totty in the new faces

A few beers before and after with mates, arrive at about 2.55 hoping they really have got the turnstiles working properly, sit down and moan about the quality of the football but won't care less about that when we score but also throw my dummy out of the pram when Antonio leaves Stephens for dead and scores

Hammers fans will be making loads of noise with justification and then hope that Northam and even Chapel try and counter that noise to drown them out for a while especially when we then get that 2nd

I'm also hoping they have improved the VAR situation but no matter, will support the boys as best as I can from my comfy (sort of) plastic seat (unpadded) and try and rush down to avoid the queue for the pi55er to get rid of the beer from before the game

Yeah, looking forward to the day, socially as well as football wise but whinge after 10 mins about the sideways backwards passing

Am I alone?

I feel the same especially regards VAR which is fR better this season, and referees so far not so gullible to diving

Yep, but there needs to be players in the box too, and preferably, they should have practised it a bit. It never looks like it to me.

I can't see the official attendance anywhere, but there were quite a few empty seats. The West Ham fans sang your ground's too big for you.

Even though the ground had not been full for either home game so far, the vocal support has been excellent from Saints fans and two good performances from the team too

The moaners have stopped going and the negativity has gone, it reminds me of back in 2009 when we lost a lot of fans who had stayed away and we had more of a siege mentality and this led to some great support.
