Poor. At least we won’t play them again. Still think Burnley will go down

Not so sure. Burnley are home to Wolves next, then they play Watford. Everton are away to Liverpool then they have Chelsea.

About time Ralph. Should have changed things at half time

Ralph seems to lose his way
picks a team sticks with it can't change anything to force the issue

Another re think for the Brighton game.

Southampton V Burnley Matchday Thread on 21:36 - Apr 21 with 833 viewsElijahK

For these last few games we might as well start letting a few younger players play, and stop playing Broja. As Broja still hasn’t scored since West Ham, and not in the league since back at the start of January, and just ain’t the same player we saw at the start of the season. So unless the club knows for a fact that he’ll be playing here next season (irrelevant of whether that a loan or permanent) then we might as well let someone like A Armstrong play seeing that he will be. But we do still need to get another striker in the summer as if Broja does leave then we’ve just got two, with only one actually having many goals under his name.
Still not been good enough today, as I missed the first goal, but have seen enough to see how we’ve been soo poor at the back and haven’t taken a single one of the many golden opportunities we’ve had today! But that’s just saints, and is how it’s always been.
Still at least Everton might be going down!

Yeah we are, as that Arsenal win confirmed it, as not only would we need both Everton and Burnley to win most of their remaining games, but also those in between us and them, as well as us loosing all of them, and anyone with any footballing knowledge knows that not one of those things will happen, let alone all of them.

Now Ralph takes KWP and replaces him with Tino.
Is KWP injured?

He’s saving him for the weekend, as he knew like we all did that we weren’t coming away with anything, so might as well save him for Brighton on Sunday, where we may come away with something

Agree Broja needs to be dropped. He is our best striker but anyone can see he is disinterested. Probably a few more with eyes on other clubs. And Broja won't be here, so we might as well give Armstrong a go as he will be here. And the others are on the beach.

I was saying it tongue in cheek. However, 6 or 7 games ago we looked like we were going to fly past the 40 point mark. Now it looks like we are doing our best to finish 16th.

Pathetic, gutless display, especially following the Arsenal result, not quick enough on the ball, had enough opportunities to bury them but as usual we dont and then we pay the price with some really poor defending. WTF was Lyanco doing tonight is beyond me he was all over the place, too many players went missing and that includes Broja who doesnt seem interested, just glad we had the points in the bag early.

Ok but even if we do, we still won’t go down, so why people are still worrying just takes the p*ss, as outta our remaining 5 games, we’ll probably get like 4-7 points, and even if we don’t, I can see all of the teams below us getting like 12 points from their last 5/6 games, especially with all of them having at least 1 of the top 3 left. As yeah we certainly can finish low (although I don’t even see us finishing 16th/17th, but maybe 15th) but we’re not going down

Unfortunately he wasn’t, and the rules don’t work like that, so VAR typically got it right when against us

But he was interfering . Also the big tw@t who scored climed all oer jwp using him like they do in a throw in in rugby . So a foul .

And yes im bias but fućk me .. Time wasting too . Using Head injury tactics when we attacking the box . ?

First goal was a cracker but we should have had two of our own by then tut .

Che always shoots straight at the keeper ...do they actually practice in training ?

Broja cant play on his own up front imo .

keep the faith coyr

Well we got 3 points against Arsenal with the 3/5 at the back, so it’s fair enough that he kept it the same for today, but why he didn’t bring on Adams at halftime or such, I don’t get

A mixture of woeful Arsenal finishing & Fraser Forster mimicking Gordon Banks won us that game. Tonight we played like Portsmuff did the night we won 4-0 at their gaff in that cup game.

Are we sh!t for most of the time with the occasion good spell or good result? Or are we mainly good but with inevitable periods we become rubbish?

Difficult to work it out.

Yeah but that’s not how the rule works, as it only counts as intervening with the goalie/their line of sight when the balls been played from a teammate (which for this scenario is the guy who scores), as before that he’s definitely intervening, but he can’t be offside from a corner so ain’t breaking any rules. And when the balls played he’s to the left of Forster but hes outta the way and ain’t in the way of Forsters line of sight, and we’d all be going ballistic if that was ruled out if we scored that.
And the jumping over Prowse, well that happens all the time from both teams and after watching it again, really it’s a scenario where in all fairness it shouldn’t have counted, but like I’ve just said it happens both ways and sometimes is called and sometimes ain’t (which the consistency of, I really don’t like), but even if it had been overruled, we still probably wouldn’t have gotten anything.

But yeah I agree that the head injury was dirty play from them, although the ref does have to stop and has no choice, but why he kept giving the dropped ball to them and not getting it played back to us wasn’t right, especially as we were in clear possession at both points when play was halted.
