| Saints At Leicester Matchday Thread on 16:27 - Aug 20 by ElijahK | In all fairness it’s right in the bottom corner and as it’s curled around the wall, unless he’s got some sort of X-Ray vision, he ain’t gonna see it until late. Although I do agree that even though it ain’t really the keepers fault (although I’m sure the very best might save it) if it was McCarthy in goal, he’d be hammered for it! Still just seen that we’ve got one back, yet again the subs that make the impact! Well let’s hope we can get another and really get back into this game! |
Not so much that he should have saved it but he's responsible for setting up the wall. Mainly a poor free kick to concede, though.

| Saints At Leicester Matchday Thread on 16:55 - Aug 20 by Saintsforeverj | Because bringing him on, meant he had something to prove and he was an impact player from the bench. It worked and we won the game. |
Noted But he won’t want to be an impact sub and the window isn’t closed

| Saints At Leicester Matchday Thread on 17:04 - Aug 20 by Saintsforeverj | I have stood up for Ralph for a long time, and was starting to doubt him after the Spurs game, we couldn't keep losing, but there is always a little light there for me with Ralph. He's passionate, a football man, we do get some good results sometimes and the comebacks are exciting. The team looks quite quick and dynamic. Hopefully we can add another striker. It's promising but early days. Just a note about changing managers, Everton still struggling under Lampard. Man U struggling with their new manager. We don't have their resources, so let's give Ralph some credit or at least be aware that the grass isn't always greener. [Post edited 20 Aug 2022 17:05]

Strange how it seems to coincide with a new coaching, team, noticeably with Mr.Selles. No more 5 at the back, no more Bednarek, no more McCarthy.

Every team needs a good coaching set up. A manager can't do it on their own. It's also coincided with 5 new players. Selles seems like a great addition, but Ralph is still the boss. We will have to see won't we. Gut feeling is and has always been, that the grass isn't always greener. Ask Everton fans, Man U fans, Watford fans, Burnley fans and ofcourse Leicester fans . Ralph has always kept us up on a show string budget and despite the bad defeats, I have hope we could swarm all over Man U next week and get a win. And, the players certainly haven't lost trust in their manager, otherwise they wouldn't have won. But I don't want to go round and round the same arguments again. We will see on the pitch. Rodgers is supposedly a good manager. But he's not now, that he lacks resources and players wanting to leave. It's difficult for any manager in that type of atmosphere. Ralph has been through it all and kept us up. Leicester on the other hand look in real trouble, even though they have a good manager. Gerrard at Villa too. He isn't doing the business either. Not to mention his statements around his wife’s “unreliable” evidence, and not having the balls to say about the Rooney conversation under oath in the courtroom. At least we can see that Rooney has a track record of admitting his errors, (fancy a granny anyone? There is MILF, and there is GILF) so I know who I believe on whether or not the conversation took place.

Jo tessem could see that Leicester goal coming from the free kick, saying the defence was wrong and he was right. I hope Ralph and his colleagues work on that not happening again.

The horrible little cvnt signed his nice new contract and repaid their faith in him by touching the ball a whopping 11 times in the match !! :-)

It is a very tough job managing in the EPL and you need good people around you and the proper support from the owners and everyone in the club. We have been disjointed for a while but the new owners have make good strides in getting our ducks in a row. They have stuck with Ralph because they clearly believe in him and the new additions both on the pitch and in the coaching set up have already started to show improvements. Spurs was a tough start but if we build on the positives in the last two matches there is no reason why we can’t have a decent season. We are now bringing players into the club that you can see developing and helping us improve in the future. The next few years are looking very exciting. Early days but the signs for the future look good.

It looked to me that Bazuna was expecting a cross rather than a shot and messed his angles up he'll of learnt a lot from that .

We mustn’t rest on our laurels though and suddenly think all is good because of a couple of decent results. We still must buy another striker and more defensive cover because A. Armstrong, Stephens Bednarek/ Lyanco are either not good enough at this level or in Bednarek’s case demotivated .
