1-1 at HT and it's all a bit so so.
Nice header from the skipper to level things up. Ryan Fraser looked out best player until the tvvat clobbered him. AA has been hopeless and has even managed to get himself booked through his own frustration at being sh1t. Change him at HT for Stewart.
And while I'm at it... is there a more negative player than Bree? Always passes it sideways or backwards and never down the wing.
Lallana is playing well, I'll give him that. He won't last the 90-minutes though & I would be tempted to save him for Saturday's more important game.

Apart from Fraser’s shot from a tight angle and Brereton’s shot from outside the box near the end, I can’t think of any saves the Everton keeper had to make during the 90 mins.
The goal apart, obviously.
Hardly a triumph for a strong Saints team against Everton reserves.
Still, a win is a win.

You needn’t have worried, as soon as Ashley Young stepped up, it was game over. I don’t think Mc Carthy saved it, it was more just hit straight at him.
If he’s not getting sent off, giving away penalties or scoring own goals, he’s missing penalties.
Oh and that looked a penalty all night long on him against Dibling near the end. Where was VAR? | | | |

We get those possession stats up by staying in our own half. The closer you stay to your own goal, the fewer opposition players you have to contend with so the easier it is to keep possession. Sideways and backwards passes are easier to make than forward ones, where there are defenders waiting to intercept them. Our priority is to retain possession, not score goals.
