5 Things About Tottenham 15:05 - Apr 7 with 1406 viewsSaintNick

1.There seem to be a lot more foreigners watching Spurs these days, mainly Dutch and Scandinavians it seemed.

2. The stroll down Tottenham High Road from Seven Sisters station was very pleasant with a few good pubs along the way, I especially liked the converted public toilets.

3. The Spurs support is awful.

4. I did enjoy the stick a Spurs fan sitting in the bit behind us got when he screamed for Johnson to take the last minute penalty and complete his hat trick.

5.As I always have said, a great stadium, a sh*te place to watch football

More Koreans than any other nationality.

For obvious reasons.

1. The Ferry Boat Inn is the best pre-match pub for spurs away, by Tottenham Hale so good for the train to Northumberland Park, on the river lea so great beer garden and virtually no football fans

2. Leaving to get the train ten minutes before kick off was a mistake even for people who never make kick off like us (we got there 20mins late)

3. That's the worst Spurs side i can remember in my lifetime (and they still looked comfortably better than us)

4. The day felt more like a pre-season friendly the a competitive game, both on and off the pitch

5. Anyone singing that championship ole in the concourse nonsense should get a minimum 10 year banning order from Saints

I heard quite a few Americans with Spurs caps on. It felt like a friendly game. £6.50 for a lager was quite steep.

Why do we always play Spurs when the sun is beating down on us in the away end? It was quite hot again.

It's a long walk to the tube station.

Poll: Who do we want as the new permanent Saints manager?

One more thing about Tottenham

Both our games against them this season have seen the manager in charge of us relieved of their duties afterwards (or even during if some reports were to be believed!)

Is this some sort of strange record in a season of record breaking crapness?

That’s got to be another record surely?
Perhaps Spurs getting revenge for Saints getting Hoddle the sack as their manager after a 3-1 win at White Hart Lane back in the day. Considering the way Hoddle & Levy behaved when Hoddle was poached from us by Spurs there seemed to be some kind of poetic justice about Saints relieving him of the job he went behind our backs to obtain.
But yes, I agree, that has to be some kind of strange record regarding Martin & Jurić.

Agreed, when Beattie got his second of the game not long before HT it really started - sacked in the morning, you're getting sacked in the morning just echoed around an otherwise silent WHL and when Kevin Phillips made it 3-0 on the hour it got even louder. Dubious goals panel had Kev's effort off him afterwards and said OG but at the time it didn't matter it was just the sweetest feeling. From memory, the win put us 4th and Spurs either 17th or just in the bottom 3 - how times have changed for us...

Must admit it was a better day than the 7-2 game where George Graham (known for his boring boring one nil football style) outmasterd Hod. What a shïte day amongst many that was.

Ready and waiting to mop up those European places......
