That's great. I'm pleased he's staying.

Of course, no hint whatsoever of the length of his contract. So bloody irritating.

Makes it stranger why he hasn't been involved recently. We really could have done with his enthusiasm and directness the other night. I assumed it was contract/potential appearance fee related but seems not. But anyway, very happy with this. An underrated player, and a great personality.

Hypothetically, "if you want minutes, sign the contract"

Excellent, deserved, needed.

There was some thread or other recently where someone was opining he wouldn't and/or shouldn't be renewed blah de blah, which was silly then and sillier now. QPR and Smyth are well suited. He has his faults and flaws, of course, but right now, for me, he gives us more than Saito, Varane, and one or two others besides. He should have started against West Brom, and needs to be used more and not less - he's quick, hard-working, consistent, and carries a goal threat.

Let's hope he now will be.

Thank f*ck for that. Now all we have to do is play him!

Very pleased he's continuing with us. 122 games so far for us. His experience is pretty vital, as is his pace and attitude.

PLAY HIM!!!

Never knowingly right.

Good work all round. He's the kind of player who seems to fit the 'cult hero' category: might not be the biggest but you'd rather have him on your team than face him!

Doesn't mention how long he's signed for but I didn't really expect anything else. I assume it is more than a one year extension but somewhat less than a life sentence.

This is great news ๐Ÿ‘.

I love his energetic closing down high up the pitch, it forces the opposition into errors. If only all of our squad did it.

I feel boosted by this!

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

Good news - I've said before he add some crucial goals but also you can see how positive he is towards his team-mates and his workrate on the pitch is superb - definitely the right sort as they say!
