Probably my favourite glug of the week is late Sunday afternoon, listening to 5Live or music doing the roast. A bottle of red simply disappears. Not great for Monday morning work sh*t though, but pain outweighs gain just.

Same here, few pints, a lovely dinner then a bottle of red, that starts as a glass or two.

Medium sweet Oloroso for me while doing the roast. One for the gravy, one for me.

Theres no point doing dry January if you didn't tell everyone your doing dry January. Im doing dry January. I did love a Sunday booze up though. Although the Mondays wake up used to be hell. I did find myself getting hooked on Baileys mixed with Brandy over xmas. That was a nice bedtime tipple.

Y'know, when you tell an Aussie that the British are on a dry January - they presume you're still not showering.
Used to be a hot coconut milk 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric, dash of black pepper, pinch of cinnamon and a couple cardamom pods. Great for sore joints, inflammation, immune system and sleep apparently. But after reaching my mid 60's I found that a late night beverage sitting in my bladder would wake me up, so gave that up. Now a couple glasses of Saumur-Champigny (Loire, highly recommended) for apero at 6pm is my goto tpple.
When you reach the place beyond thoughts, the only thing you'll find is love and the only purpose of life becomes to ease the suffering of others.
Didn't think that would take long - well done you, what a lovely man you are! I've reported you, for whatever it's worth in my case.
What would be your chosen method of self-slaughter, out of interest?

Miss, miss, Billy's being mean miss. What exactly have you reported him for doing ? All he's done is point out that you've left yourself wide open to someone taking a shot. He's not even offered to buy you a pint.

I'm starting to get into red wine, I had a glass of Chilean Primitivo the other day and it was beautifully rich and smooth. I like Malbec too but Maury is also very palatable.
A few years back, we went to a hotel which had an enormous range of liqueurs. I wanted to try something new and plumped for one made from pears, namely Poire William. It's a bit like pear -flavoured Calvados and I love it. A link to a random supplier is below.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

I'm still topping up the Bailey's with a shot of cheaper Brandy or Whisky in January 😂 managed to wean myself off in Feb last year, especially when Bailey's shot back up in price.
Single Malt with an ice cube is my usual go to in normal times.
