| 5 Things About The Sheffield Wednesday Game 22:16 - Mar 1 with 1982 views | SaintNick | 1. We seem to now have a youth firm of around 30 Burberry clad 16-18 year olds that go home and away and made a bit of a noise at Hillsborough, both at half time and during the game. 2. It was nice to be able to park about a 10 minute walk to the ground on the street 3. Went to a nice little back street pub that was still a working class boozer, warm welcome, if I had had a pint of carling it was under £4 and a pint of cruz campo was £4.80 . Guinness £4.50, no frills sadly there are few pubs like this left in Southampton. 4. Hillsborough is looking tired which is sad, its a traditional looking ground , but in fairness its all been built since the 1960's 5. I thought the keeper should have done better for their goal, but did redeem himself with that late save | |

| 5 Things About The Sheffield Wednesday Game on 08:31 - Mar 2 with 1730 views | Wints76 | A beer from one of the kiosks outside the Betlin Olympic Stadium was €6 I think (I had both my offspring with me, so I sent them to the bar). However, you got €2 back when returning your plastic cup (or gave it to one of the entrepreneurial gentlemen of the road, who returned it for you 🙂) Crowd was only around 45000, so half empty, and the standard of football was below the Championship. Atmosphere was much better through, despite a protest from both sets of fans about policing | | | |

I know many won’t like it and find it cringeworthy but I say fair play to them they’re only having fun at a young age and keeping the Saints support going. When I last went to Fulham I walked into a pub which was full of these lads having a good time with saints flags all over the pub and they weren’t causing trouble.

| 5 Things About The Sheffield Wednesday Game on 11:27 - Mar 2 with 1525 views | NickSO19 | We were in the Upper and went outside at half time. The 'youth firm' were a group of 30 odd yokels in snide Burberry and Stone Island stood behind a very small barrier. Chanting rubbish like "you're seen Southampton, now f**k off home" to the Wednesday supporters leaving. We binned the game off at halftime as the Irish pub we were in pre match had a live music session and we wanted to watch/listen to that instead. What was amazing is how the 30 odd 'lads' could not move the barrier between them. I moved it very easily and myself and my mate causally strolled out past the stewards and old bill and made our way back to the boozer. I won't bore you with my opinons on that James Bree song. | | | |

They're no different than any other young lads. Every club has got them .

You even get them at Eastleighs home matches. A bit intimidating for the young kiddies.
| 5 Things About The Sheffield Wednesday Game on 12:12 - Mar 2 with 1419 views | Southamptonfan | I've seen them at Eastleigh and Saints. Let them have a shout, let off some aggression, a bit of harmless fun and creating some noise in support of our clubs. Better than causing trouble on the streets. | |

i was on the train home from a recent saints game where we were held at Eastleigh station for about 15 minutes due to fighting between Eastleigh youth and Aldershot youth. Police everywhere.

They are ultimately the future of the fanbase, particularly the away support. I just don’t get this thing about singing in concourses more than during the game. Must be my age, I guess……

| 5 Things About The Sheffield Wednesday Game on 13:26 - Mar 3 with 713 views | hedgeend61 | Before Saturday the only time I'd been to Hillsborough was 42 years back on Sunday 11 March 1984 for an FA Cup match which ended 0 0 in font of a crowd of over 40,030 https://www.11v11.com/matches/ The only thing I can remember about the day (had a few cold drinks) was a lad right near me threw a smoke bomb on the pitch (think it was during 1nd half) The terrace was full and guessing about 5000 Saints, maybe more there; anyone else go? Do you not remember the bus convoy (almost a pre-curser to the Skate bubbles!) going at about 10mph! We got our own bachelor with a 5-0 or 5-1 win at The Dell! | |

Fantastic turnout from Saints that day. The line of coaches stretched out of sight, well over 100 ! The return was a cracking night at the Dell, but was nursing a flattened nose from a mob of Wednesday who were brave enough to come into the Lord Loius before the game, before they were unceremoniously dumped back onto the street !
