That is a lot worse than a player trying to get an opponent sent off. They should be punished for it.
They'll do anything to get there, by fair means which they lost at, or foul, including trying to break the rules of an independent inquiry.

What planet are they living on if they think they can determine the extent of our punishment?
The best they can hope for is some sort of victim impact statement and no one would believe any serious harm was caused anyway.
They couldn’t beat us at their place despite having a hatful of chances and they ran out of puff again at SMS and lost to a freak goal that no amount of spying could have influenced.
It’s the biggest load of fuss about nothing that you could ever imagine.
If they’d been more consistent they’d have gone up automatically and not be pissing around in the play-offs. |  |

Interestingly enough the Internet Sports page of the B B C have given space to report Middlesbrough’s statement but for the first time for days there is no H Y S comments section.
It looks to me that even their journalists (who incidentally one of which couldn’t even spell Boro’s name correctly) are finally running out of puff with the whole thing.
With tickets having been put on sale it’s all starting to look very much like tomorrow’s chip papers now. | |

Jeez, I wish the EFL were dealing with this in-house. If they felt they had to farm the hearing out then I would have preferred it if they had gone to the FA not down the independent commission route as by now Boro could be up on two charges for issuing that statement if the Disciplinary Committee felt so inclined.
Having this done by an independent committee does concern me as the very valid points made above regarding the limitations of what could have really been achieved by spying could be lost on them if they are not football people.
All said and done the EFL need to step in and tell Boro and the serial bedwetter Gibson the shut the f@@k up or be hit with an improper conduct charge for starters. Gibson is now hurling his toys out of the pram as he has hired ‘Mr. Loophole’ the very expensive specialist sports lawyer who now won’t get the opportunity to tie the commission in knots as nobody from Boro will be allowed to be present. This now smacks of sheer and utter desperation on Boro’s part and with no right of appeal open to them (bar CAS) they are panicking - and possibly for good reason as they can only submit written evidence. The independent commission secretary will quite possibly pre-read the Boro submission and any ancillary evidence they have been so busy gathering (such as other clubs allegedly being spied on) will be disregarded, in fact, the commission panel members won’t even see it, as it won’t make the ‘final cut’ in terms of what is put before the panel as it will only be evidence directly pertaining to the events at the training ground on the Thursday before the first leg game that will be considered, nothing else - and a lot of what Boro want included for consideration is everything else but what happened on the Thursday before the first leg game.
