All kicking off in Southampton tonight. The arrest footage is absolutely appalling. The male officer in particular was dreadful. Stabbed and was totally ignored, believing that he had been racist.

I have a relative who works in the Police force and some of the stories I have been told in the course of their duties underlines the daily challenges and dangers those in uniform face.
It is not just the police but the Fire Brigade, NHS staff as well.
Taking a detached view of the circumstances relating to the stabbing in St Denys it is understandable that there is a sense of outrage.
That said the police attending the scene would have been influenced by the murderer and his brother and would not have immediately been aware of the stabbing.
There have always been challenges being a police officer but these have ramped up in recent years. It is no wonder that many young people joining the force only last a short while and recruitment is a major problem.
It is right and proper that there should be an investigation into the events surrounding the stabbing but the involvement of a known football thug, a failed actor and worst of all a US billionaire stirring up anti police hate does not help the situation at all.

I also have a relative in the police force.

He has a proper job, unlike grifters like Farage, Lowe and Yaxley-Lennon, who are all completely full of shit and only after other people’s money.

You cannot reason a person out of something they were not reasoned into.

Needless to say, voted down by Numbskull9, that Fascist piece of human sewage.

One of the officers concerned has had the decency to resign. That shows guts and conscience.

Yaxley Lennon got to Southampton as though teleported and should have been arrested for inciting racial hatred. Then jailed.

People should read what the trial judge had to say on the situation that police faced that night. Tragic mistakes were clearly made but just mistakes in dealing with a rapidly evolving incident rather than 'woke' policing.

The judge said:

'Another consequence of those lies is that the attending police officers honestly believed that there were reasonable grounds for suspecting Henry had committed an offence and arrested him with the consequence he was handcuffed for about a minute before his condition further deteriorated and the arresting officer began CPR.

The police were given a convincing but wholly false narrative of the incident. It was dark and Henry was wearing a dark top. The entry damage caused by the knife through it, would not have been obvious. Whilst there was visible blood on Henry, it would not have clearly been seen coming from that wound and the clearly visible facial wound was not life threatening.

Henry was complaining that he had been stabbed and was struggling to breathe but that would not have necessarily told the officers how serious the situation had become.

It is the experience of the criminal courts that sometimes, someone arrested and handcuffed will feign injury in the hope they may be released. These police officers were faced with having to make quick decisions in pressurised circumstances about the best way to act. The genuine shock to the particular police officer, when he realised that he had been giving CPR to Henry when he had a serious chest wound tends to show that he was doing his best in a very difficult situation.'

I could be wrong but I don’t think the cops killed anyone in this case. The poor sod was already done for. That doesn’t excuse the cops but the murderer pulled the wool over their eyes. Sikhs have had their turbans knocked off by racists so it was a plausible defence at the time. The cops got the guy who did it. They couldn’t see the internal bleeding either. It’s a tragedy by there’s only one person to blame for it and he happens to be Sikh.

I’d be more concerned about the depths that the Far Right will stoop to in order to make political capital.

Was Jimmy Savile brown or black? Was Peter Sutcliffe? Was Dr Crippen? Was Jack the Ripper? Nutters and sickos come in all colours.

This must be the first time in history the Far Right has taken to defending a student. Or are they only in favour of white British ones? That sounds a lot like racism to me. I don’t have beef with any Sikhs (apart from the forementioned psycho) but I do have a problem with British Nazis grasping at straws and whipping up thickos who can’t tell they’re being played.

I’m just wondering what the likes of Yaxley-Lennon, Farage and Lowe have got in mind for a Reichstag fire. Elon Musk can GTF too. Southampton has a proud history of kicking the shit out of out of town Nazis and I’d like to see that continue if at all possible.

the best description of fascism is from Umberto Eco, an italian who lived in italy under Mussolini and was at one point a supporter before becoming loudly and actively against it.

Those rules are

1. The cult of tradition. “One has only to look at the syllabus of every fascist movement to find the major traditionalist thinkers. The Nazi gnosis was nourished by traditionalist, syncretistic, occult elements.”

2. The rejection of modernism. “The Enlightenment, the Age of Reason, is seen as the beginning of modern depravity. In this sense Fascism can be defined as irrationalism.”

3. The cult of action for action’s sake. “Action being beautiful in itself, it must be taken before, or without, any previous reflection. Thinking is a form of emasculation.”

4. Disagreement is treason. “The critical spirit makes distinctions, and to distinguish is a sign of modernism. In modern culture the scientific community praises disagreement as a way to improve knowledge.”

5. Fear of difference. “The first appeal of a fascist or prematurely fascist movement is an appeal against the intruders. Thus Fascism is racist by definition.”

6. Appeal to social frustration. “One of the most typical features of the historical fascism was the appeal to a frustrated middle class, a class suffering from an economic crisis or feelings of political humiliation, and frightened by the pressure of lower social groups.”

7. The obsession with a plot. “Thus at the root of the Fascist psychology there is the obsession with a plot, possibly an international one. The followers must feel besieged.”

8. The enemy is both strong and weak. “By a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.”

9. Pacifism is trafficking with the enemy. “For Fascism there is no struggle for life but, rather, life is lived for struggle.”

10. Contempt for the weak. “Elitism is a typical aspect of any reactionary ideology.”

11. Everybody is educated to become a hero. “In Fascist ideology, heroism is the norm. This cult of heroism is strictly linked with the cult of death.”

12. Machismo and weaponry. “Machismo implies both disdain for women and intolerance and condemnation of nonstandard sexual habits, from chastity to homosexuality.”

13. Selective populism. “There is in our future a TV or Internet populism, in which the emotional response of a selected group of citizens can be presented and accepted as the Voice of the People.”

14. Fascism speaks Newspeak. “All the Nazi or Fascist schoolbooks made use of an impoverished vocabulary, and an elementary syntax, in order to limit the instruments for complex and critical reasoning.”

Given Fascism itself has no key text or document like other political views - wealth of nations for capitalism for example, or the communist party manifesto for communism - this is the closest we have to a true definition of what it is.

In my view people like Tommy Robinson tick the vast majority if not all of those so it is entirely fair to call him a Fascist (though his previous membership of the BNP also should be a fairly big giveaway)

I think there’s a completely fair argument to be made that the more extreme versions of Islamic fundamentalism are a form of fascism, in the same way it was true of the forms in Spain and South America that used Catholicism, and how Russia uses orthodox Christianity.

In fact it’s also telling that both American and English fascists will latch onto religion too.

I think the murder was vile, the family covering it up was vile, the police reaction and actions appalling and i think all involved should be held accountable to the strongest punishments available.

I also find utterly and completely disgusting that a bunch of racist arseholes came into our city to cause trouble and act like bellends.

What i really don't understand is that from the photo's it looks like these people came in from central station and walked to portswood, why the hell the police didn't pick them up there and put them back on trains outside of the city i have no idea.

Because these people do not represent our city and don't belong here.

Point of order Frannie, the word 'racist' isn't necessary in this context, just 'arseholes' will do for those throwing missiles at the police. What evidence is there that they were all racist?

I think you need to stop watching so much news. You're just banging on about media narratives ("far right") that have been created out of thin air.
Suddenly applying some weird artificial DEI filter that you've been fed over things that should really be judged through, common sense, fairness and natural law, which is actually the measure of what is right and wrong.
Stop mistaking actors , playing inflammatory pop-up personalities as real people. And thinking that they are the mouth pieces for any actual peoples beliefs.
At the end of the day, you are just promoting violence. And, no, there is never justification for that, however you are trying to rationalise it based on some pantomime baddies

I would really love to know who started the trouble in the crowd amongst the protestors, and where they came from. New faces that Southampton people haven't seen before by any chance?
The State has a history of planting agitators into these type of events, to actually cause violence, create division and change the narrative against those wanting some sort of justice and peaceful protest. We've seen these bad actor agents at many of the protests. You have to wonder when the old celebrity faces pop up and make statements to prod the left vs right narratives, for those too naive to discern what is really going on and believe what they read in the newspapers and see on TV

I think based on that, you have to question the judge's independence.

"honestly believed that there were reasonable grounds for suspecting Henry had committed an offence" - Why did they believe that? Based on what evidence?

"police were given a convincing but wholly false narrative of the incident" - by who? What made it convincing when there was no evidence to support it?

Why would a credible policeman handcuff someone based on someone else's say so? Was Henry Nowak a threat or trying to runaway?

You can't justify stomping over another's rights, based on there being an example somewhere of someone feigning injury. You need evidence. That is a policemen's job, to establish that. Otherwise a policeman is no more credible in their role than a militia or a vigilante.
In which case, there is a serious problem with policing

Yes, those were the ones charged. Who started it was my question.
They will hardly charge their own agents.
You only have to look at events like the January 6th Capitol attack. An entirely fake psyop where people went down for it, Yet, those that led it and told people where to go and directed them into the White house were Agents, who got off scot free and were airbrushed out of the event. Its a very common modus operandi here too. "Spycops" https://theweek.com/law/the-uk

There is a much simpler, less wordy definition of fascism. It is where the State is controlled by Corporations and works on their behalf, against the people it is supposed to represent. In which case, fascists are those working on behalf of the State, against the people.

Communism is supposedly the opposite. Where the State controls the corporations.

Though when we are honest about it, and these are supposedly left / right extreme politics, the reality is that there is no difference.

It is where the State, Institutions and Business, not actually representing the people at all, are working against the People. Which is exactly where we are now.

Yet sadly, people are falling into the Hegelian Dialectic of fighting each other and name calling, exactly as intended by those faceless organisations that supposedly have the power. One group calling the other fascists and the other calling them communists. Like arguing over the different sides the same coin.
It was no coincidence that the US and UK recruited all of those Nazis after WW2 with Operation Paperclip. So long as we are arguing amongst each other, nobody questions how f*cked up those perverts are that run everything
