A great professional performance 03:23 - Oct 25 with 1690 views1teeminants

For me every player played well yesterday apart from one or two. Standout performances for me were Peretz who was simply brilliant Azaz , Matsuki , Bree ,JWP and Dobbin. Dobbin had a superb effort second half which hit the post if that had gone in we would all be singing his praises. The through ball from Azaz and Dobbin’s touch and turn was sublime.

The only slight downside for me was Scienza. His form has dropped off a bit not sure what’s going on there. We need Leo to up his game and chip in with goals now and again. A very talented player when he’s on form.

Anybody else miss the first goal ffs ? This was due to the ridiculous amount of security checks outside the stadium.

I agree with your assessment of the performance and Scienza has to give up trying silly tricks when trying to relieve pressure on our defence. Time and time again he turned the ball over and put us under more pressure.

Don’t agree with your poor excuse for getting in late. Perhaps a bit less beer time before you get in and an extra one on the concourse if time allows?

Yes I had a few beers are arriving in London at 10.15 but I don’t expect to be searched 3 times before entering the ground ffs . Totally over the top.

Leo was instrumental in the first goal yesterday.
His form of late has not been as good as last season but he's great at taking on defences and unsettling them.
Great team performance and our goalkeeper has been magnificent.

A great team performance. I think the opening 10 mins shocked West Ham before finally waking up.

Nick won’t like this but if his darling Bazunu was in goal we lose that 4 or 5 - 2. Peretz had his best game for us.

Battling performance from the whole team though and in the end a deserved statement win.

Leo will come good.

There was a spell.when we were 2-1 up that I said that we would be 4-2 down by the break. They were battering us and I think we went about 10 mins without a touch in their half. Then we got the third and thought our game management in the second half was superb, albeit with some great saves from Peretz.

Leo wasn't brilliant but still played his part in the goals. If he performed to his absolute best every week, he wouldn't be playing for us!

Peretz is the best keeper we’ve had for years. Yep Mcarthy or Bazunu in goal we definitely lose that game no question.

Definitely. Peretz is a massive part of us winning games. He makes a few world class saves in games. A good goalkeeper is so important for success.

I dont think that was Peretz's best overall game, he made some great saves, but he also flapped a lot at crosses when they packed the box, he also spilled one of their shots.

Still a good performance from him and possibly man of the match, but we rode our lucj a little too much for comfort

Bazunu or Mcarthy would not have made those saves Nick. It really is that simple.

I really don't know how we can criticise Peretz after a game like that. I am not saying he was perfect but neither were our forwards the week before against Bolton. Had Peretz not made the saves he did we would have lost that game by 2 or 3 goals instead of winning it. What perhaps it highlighted is that at times we gave WHU too much space to cut through our midfield and defence which resulted in the need for Peretz to make so many saves.

It was a great game though and a great watch. I am glad I was there to see it, despite the rubbish ground, the dreadful weather and yes, the number of checks to get in are excessive. But a great day out and made the c500 mile round trip (on train) worth it.

In fairness to Nick, he’s pointing out that there was a bit of luck involved and Peretz didn’t deal convincingly with a few situations. I love Peretz but being balanced he isn’t the most physically commanding and does occasionally struggle with crosses into a packed 6 yard box- as do most keepers tbf. Everything else he brings outweighs that slight weakness. His presence, personality and shot saving abilities are outstanding. Best since Niemi? Forster in his first two seasons probably edges that as would Ramsdale.
