| Top 3 countries for wine on 23:50 - Feb 22 with 1166 views | this_charming_man | Went to this cracking little wine bar in Paris this week. Tiny little pls e but each wall is full of full bottles of wine, you tell them what you like and they match to it. Only condition I’d you have to buy a full bottle. It’s right in the theatre area so apparently dome nights after 11 gets full of actors which sounds a bit pretentious but I really like the atmosphere in there. | |

My opinion has been consistently correct. The French are our rivals. If you are Patriotic you should make a conscious choice to not buy French when there are alternatives. There are perfectly good alternatives to French wine and it’s your duty as an Englishman to seek them out. [Post edited 23 Feb 2020 9:52]

I wouldn’t expect a Labour supporter to having any loyalty to our country so I’m not surprised in the slightest.

Labour supporter ? I thought you said you were always right ?. Anyway, once again you've succeeded in politicising a potentially very interesting thread. Well done you crushing bore.

Out of interest - as an Englishman trying to avoid ‘traitor’ traps - is anyone (apart from Trump’s US) our ally? You included Russia on your wine list - was that tongue in cheek, or are they our allies? This’ll be good...

They do, but only in blind tastings. Does my head in. Nyetimber for years was wiping the floor with most Champagnes (no other sparkling wine gets close apart from Franciacorta from Italy and Crement de Limoux (which I personally prefer to most Champagnes anyway). But yeah, it was only winning in blind tastings. Proper snobbery.
