She seemed somewhat out of her depth..and the boys in the city reaped billions using that...save the bankers🤣😅

I'm sure whoever you have next will be an improvement 🤔

To nobody's surprise or regret, she has gone and her disastrous economic policy with her.

So Boris was elected with some tens of millions of votes, Liz on less than 80,000 and whomever is next with probably less than 200.

Isn't democracy wonderful?

General Election.

Why would a party with a huge majority and 18 months to go, ever vote to be out of a job?

A GE needs the approval of Parliament and when they get down to brass tacks, most Tory MPs know that a GE before some knight in shining armour arrives to drag their sorry a*ses back to credibility, means Armageddon for them and their party for a generation.

And short of the Tory party electing a divisive person as PM, (in other words any of the likely candidates) there are not going to be enough rebels to win a majority on Parliament.

I know they won’t call it but it needs to happen for the maintenance of public order.
A government with no credibility and a leader, the fourth in as many years, with no mandate.
A General Strike could be imminent.

Just cannot see it happening right now, and while the Tories are in an absolute mess (and they haven't got a leader - Boris favourite apparently to come back, which no doubt will go down well on here .....................), what is the alternative? A party (leader) with no apparent policies other than to disagree with the opposition, name calling, let the Unions take over the madhouse, and then let the sweaties run away from the Union (maybe not a bad thing to let them realise the error of their ways, although my office is up there which could be difficult!)

Unless they can find a way of not letting the party members make the final decision, we'll face the same problem as last time. They will choose first the whitest candidate and after that, the most right wing of the white candidates, which this time will be Boris (although their ideal choice would be a white version of Suella Braverman). The Tory MPs would make a more sensible choice and, the same as last time, that would probably be Rishi Sunak.

Apparently if there is an unopposed candidate then the Parliamentary Tory party can unilaterally elect them as leader - no need to bother the blue rinses.

Can't see that happening though as Sunak and Mourdant and Braverman are all liekly to throw their hat in the ring.

Nearly every Tory MP wants to be PM so it's understandably difficult to get it down to one unopposed candidate. Maybe they should have a rotation system where they all get a turn at being PM for a month.

Why would anyone want to take the role on other than self-gratification and future after dinner speech fortunes rather than "doing what is best for the British people"

Or Strmer just so he can sit back and blame everything of the previous incumbants!

We're the laughing stock throughout the world now, and we laughed at the yanks and their last two herberts ...............

but the Tories have done such a good job with our country over the last 12 years, so stable and forward looking and the party for the people

Everyone who voted for them in the last election must be so thrilled with how everything looks for everyone on the tiny little island of britain

This is a regime change coup, a plot to destabilise our government. The World Economic Forum, who are the mouthpiece of the Global Elites who run this world, clearly did not like the choices that were made and have brought their own man in - Jeremy Hunt to stabilize the situation for them - he has connections to China and was a covid and vaccine militant. Ultimately they will want Starmer in, so they can have a country that behaves like Canada and New Zealand.

Our democracy is a sham, covid ushered in a new world order and this is what it looks like.

I wholly disapprove of what you say and will defend to the death your right to say it.

Andrew Neil's interview by Andrew Marr was succinct in that the best hope for the restoration of a bit of stability and confidence in the markets would be a duo with Sunak as PM and Hunt as CofE.
Whether the Tories would behave like grown ups and choose that ticket was uncertain given the previous actions of the vested interests and their toddlers and adolescents that have brought us to where we are.

There is a theory doing the rounds that Johnson will get the 100 nominations he needs, and then pull out of the running, almost as if to make a point.

Though I suspect the Commons investigation into his antics may be more in his thinking.

The fact that so many Tories are thinking of bringing back Boris shows you what a mess they are in.
While people are struggling to put food on the table and heat their homes the Tories are still talking about themselves.

This shambles is no more than some of the voters who put them in power deserve. They interviewed a man in the street last night and he said he wanted Boris back because he got us out of Brexit. @confused.com

It would be funny if the consequences weren't so tragic for our country. The NHS, residential care and law and order are on the verge of collapse, record numbers of businesses are closing down and the government's debts are spiralling so far out of control that we are now being classified by loaners as being in the same category as Third World Countries. I have never in my lifetime witnessed such a rapid decline of our nation. Next summer, we could well see anarchy on the streets.

To be fair the conservatives have and quite pathetically 12 years on are still blaming everything on Labour. Taking a leaf out the SNPs book
