Ok but Maddison simply had a single year left on his contract, so would most likely be leaving Leicester for free next summer, whilst Prowse on the other hand has something like 3/4 years left on his, so won’t be leaving any time soon unless people pay what we want.
As it’s quite similar what’s happening with Kane right now and Munich, as he’s just simply got a year left on his contract, so even though he’s world class, Munich won’t probably be paying as much as the likes of City or United have for Haaland and Hojland, who weren’t anywhere near as proven in the prem, yet had to pay more than Munich probably will |  |

JWP's worth is whatever the market is prepared to pay. IN order to arrive at that, you need a willing seller and a willing buyer. Clearly a transaction for him does not yet have those parties and therefore his worth remains undetermined.
I suspect with the proposed West Ham deal, we were looking at the £100m + they got for Rice and thinking that they are well able to afford a high price. The same could be said for any team in the top half of last seasons PL and perhaps some in the bottom half as well.

I think JWP is probably worth £30 mill and Rice is worth £60 mill. There are players that Saints want off the books but it appears that they are content for JWP, Lavia and Tino to stay if they don't get their asking price.
