The first goal was a fluke and the second was the effort of one player forcing s mistake on a dodgy keeper. Lets see what he does Wednesday against city. I'm watching sw vs nu and as soon as nu went two down he changed it up. Would nj do that? No. He'd wait until the game was lost at 86 mins then blame the players, the fans, the weather, the pitch, his mum, whatever. He's a weak manager and has to go before our club is totally ruined

As they won’t be singing that and going on about how inexperienced he is etc, if we get wins against City, Everton and Villa, even though it shouldn’t change how inexperienced and unprepared many think he is, yet will sing it when we’ve just had some poor results and are in a poor position, which isn’t down to him, but down to the board and how poor some of our signings and squads been this season! Still it’s not just at him but also certain players, as the likes of Lyanco everyone was slagging off after the Forrst game, when at least he actually gave a toss and put in 100%, but still him and the rest of the defence did quite well, yet you don’t hear many praising him now. But unfortunately that’s just certain football fans of todays world, and it’s very singular for how many criticise refs and their decisions as well (although in all fairness I didn’t think Bond was too great today!) | Jones upset with Saints fans on 20:29 - Jan 7 with 3202 views | mushinexile | I have more chance of sprouting wings and flying to the moon that NJ has of masterminding wins against City, Everton and Villa so the criticism is entirely justified. The board may have been responsible for appointing him but he is responsible for his own actions and they are complete rubbish. That the fans got behind the team when it started to look like this might at last not be another abject capitulation does not excuse Jones playing an unimaginative and laughably ineffective substitute for football.

Fellow you are the muppet, if you think Jones Orchestrated that win. The football was appalling and we got to incredibly lucky goals. He deserves every last bit of stick

Why though? As according to many like yourself, it’s down to the board that we don’t have the squad we need to stay up, and that too many are too poor and young etc, yet that’s got nothing to do with Jones… And even then, the Palace goal had nothing to do with his tactics, but simply a poor ball from Aribo and then some poor work in between, which is why they scored. As up to that point they’d had very little and we’d been the better team, which is down to tactics, whilst that goal wasn’t. And yeah the same can be said about Prowse’s goal as that one was just lucky. Yet us being all over them in that second half was due to the changes he made, and us getting the second was a mix as it was good pressing and going to back 4, which is what we started to do in the second half, which created that chances but even then you’d expect a keeper to do better, but still it’s those changes he made which is why we only had those last few minutes where fans really did worry about an equaliser, As all those lot going on about how inexperienced, unprepared, having the wrong style of play etc… he is, won’t be saying all that and will all go quiet if we start getting results, yet those things shouldn’t be affected by results and should just be things that should never change. So ether fans like yourself need to stop being hypocrites that’ll all go mental when the poor runs start but will then be licking his ass when the good ones start, or keep to your opinions that he’s not good enough and therefore shouldn’t be clapping him off at FullTime. As if you really thought he was that bad today, then why is it that soo many of those singing that song were also clapping him off at FullTime? [Post edited 7 Jan 2023 20:45]

Yeah they do have a right to protest and all that, but at the same time you’ve gotta give the guy a chance, and when we’ve just started singing it simply because we’ve conceded one early goal in a game which it was against the run of play for, and isn’t down to the manager, well that’s when it’s a bit different. As in those situations, the players and coaches need the fans backings, not their abuse. As if you give them stick at full time that won’t affect a game and by then you’ll know of whether the performance was good enough or not, but when your just like 25 minutes in and the start of the game hasn’t even been that bad, singing a song like that is good for no one. As many fans have taken the mick outta us for signings him, but more so for how quickly many of our fans have turned on him. As so far, we’ve just had 3 league losses, and that’s it… which is hardly something you’re gonna sack a manager for. Whilst the players and the board have had a lot longer, so if anyone should be getting stick it’s them. And the thing that really makes me laugh is that at FullTime all those fans I saw giving him stick at the start of the game and singing that song, we’re the ones then applauding him at full time! As that’s as close to being a hypocrite as you can get, as when we’re loosing they’ll go full throttle at him and give him all sorts of stick, yet when we win and get the result it’s all perfectly fine now. As if your not a hypocrite then you’d ether not be singing that song in the first place, or wouldn’t be applauding him at full time (even more so for how many are saying how lucky we were for todays result and how it was luck that saved us and not NJ). | Jones upset with Saints fans on 22:18 - Jan 7 with 2858 views | DorsetIan | It’s not only the fans who’ve been saying his football is sh1t, it all the seasoned pros watching the dross he’s been serving up too. When his team is performing well he can push back against the criticism (in fact, the criticism will stop). Until then he’d be well as advised to keep his mouth shut. And for the record, Nathan ?Jones, it’s not because your energetic players lose the ball that people are singing that your football is sh1t. It’s because the football you’ve been playing has been sh1t. Someone at Saints needs to get the PR people involved because he is not winning any friends with all his belligerence and these pathetic attempts at defending his record.

| Jones upset with Saints fans on 22:35 - Jan 7 with 2807 views | 10i | This result Doesnt change anything. The tactics have been poor again, as was the line up. We won just because we were gifted two goals by their Keeper, Not because the tactics were great. Lyanco a RB? His man gave the assist and the shot on the crossbar was assisted from his side too. With a bit of Bad luck He would have given away two penalties. Their goal Was Not out of nothing, they had clearly been the better Team. 13:6 shots Tell you everything, when the goal by JWP in fact wasnt even a shot. He always tells us, that everything good that happens is because of him being great, and all the losses where despite him being great. When we are still waiting for the first good Performance since He brought his weird ideas... | | | |

Ok then if you don’t back him or don’t wanna give him a chance then as much as I disagree, that’s fair enough. It’s just how the fans go around singing and giving him stick within the first 25 minutes or so of yesterdays game, to applauding him by full time doesn’t add up, even more so for how many are saying the win was just down to luck etc…

Agree, I think NJ is an appointment that was so left field he needed to hit the ground running. That hasn’t happened unfortunately but I heard the fans singing about his football yesterday during the game and started to feel sorry for the bloke. Whatever way you look at it, he’s got a 100% record in all comps so far. No league points but undefeated in cups (watch out city)

Because he was worse than McCarthy, and he showed that the other day when he messed up for spurs when they lost. As many just had a set mind on McCarthy and would criticise him for soo much, with a lot of it being things that weren’t even his fault. Yet with Forster he’d always seem to be let off all of that, and it looks like Bazunu isn’t too dissimilar, as he’s made some howlers recently (with their goal yesterday also being something he should’ve done better on) at yet very few are actually bringing him up that often and criticising him, yet if it was McCarthy you’d have most people on here digging into him. But at least with Bazunu he’s young so actually could hopefully get somewhere in the future and become a better player, yet Forster wasn’t young so how he was let off soo much as well made no sense. But still I’ve always said that we did need a decent keeper, and that nether McCarthy or Forster were good enough, as really we should’ve signed Henderson in the summer (as he only joined Forest so it’s not like we’d of had no chance of getting him) as he’s of been perfect for us, but no instead we went for a young, cheap, inexperienced one who already has cost us a few points this season and will probably only cost us more

I think we all need to calm down and stop the name calling a bit on here, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Most people seem to agree on how the game went ie first 30 mins appalling and then a battling performance, but then people disagree and fall into three camps, those who wont give Jones a chance whatever he does, those who are reserving judgement and those who want him to succeed. I could understand why the fans were chanting what they did in the first half, in some respect it may have actually helped the team, as it was clear at where the finger was being pointed, perhaps that made some of the players look at themselves, certainly it wasn't the tactics that changed it was the commitment put in that suddenly moved up a few notches. To just say nothing changed and we got two lucky goals is both uncharitable and wrong, the first goal had an element of luck, but that could be said for most goals from free kicks such as this one, for a goal to be scored you need a defending player to lose concentration and allow someone to get a chance. The second had no element of luck about it, Armstrong did his job and chased down the keeper although it looked a lost cause, he got there and blocked the ball and put it in the net, no luck about it just a striker doing his job
