Have to say I’m not looking forward to it.
When I see the strict measures in the past that have been dealt to so many different clubs just for being poor, small and, indeed, not so small. I’m talking about massive points deductions, transfer embargoes, bans and even demotions.
Are these faceless, institutionalised arbitrators governed by any codes, guides, standards or rules
? Or are they, as seem, a law unto themselves enabling them to sanction with random impunity?

Other rules exist at the FA level which are consistent with FIFA rules. Those are basically about fair play and respect. These are the rules that were used to ban the Canadian coach for 1 year.

The only good thing about the extreme harshness of the sanctions on Saints is that the FA don't have to address any leniency issues. They will surely concentrate on the individuals. Tonda will get a year long ban. We weren't fined by the EFL so the FA might earn themselves some cash by correcting that.

In my view the FA can feck off, they are so incompetent that it’s impossible to make any form of rational guess what they will do, they will do whatever they like, feck um.
It maybe dark days but remember the single constant in all this. Players, Managers, Coaches, Owners and even venues come and go. The one constant is the Southampton supporters, each invests fifty, sixty, seventy or more years in their club. He wouldn't be in football in any official capacity but his knowledge of the players and tactics would be invaluable. | |
