Ralph, that’s how you manage a game with ten men. 14:22 - Oct 12 with 264 viewssaintmark1976

Two rows of four and one player left up front as Tonda did yesterday.

Pity you didn’t even understand the basics which due to your incompetents has left us with the record of two 9-0 defeats.

The biggest ever top level home defeat in the history of English football and the joint biggest ever away defeat to go with it.

And still some on here think it was harsh to sack him.

Ted Bates presided over an 8-0 defeat at Everton in November 1971 and then 7-0 at Leeds a few months later in the same season, yet he is one of our greatest managers.

Likewise Lawrie McMenemy lost 7-0 at Ipswich in 1974 and a 7-1 defeat to then second division Watford in a League cup game 2nd leg in 1980, he wasn't sacked either .

If arguably two of our best ever managers can suffer a few big defeats it shows that it sometimes isn't about the manager but a few freak things happening beyond their control, at least Ralph had two players send off in both those two games , the games i have mentioned were lost with the full 11 i seem to remember

None of those horrendous results ( I remember so well the stick I got going to work afterwards ) ended up with us as owners of the worst home defeat and joint worst away defeat ever in the English top flight though did they Nick ?
