Still no new manager installed

Is there a bigger issue than we think? Surely if the difference between our valuation and Swansea’s is just £400k and we want Martin installed as early as possible we should just stump up bearing in mind we spent £150m getting relegated.

Just throwing it out there

If we all keep quiet do you think the club might not notice they have forgotten to appoint Martin?

So if Russell Martin had joined last week, what would he be able to do ?

1. Meet the players- nope all away on holiday
2. Twiddle fingers

I accepted that 14 June was a key date and reasoning for not making an announcement before it but I was expecting a big fanfare announcement this morning of an appointment with balloons, streamers, fireworks etc and the obligatory photos of the said appointment holding a scarve or shirt up and pouring out the usual diatribe of how wonderful it is to join a progressive club that is going places.

If they have not appointed by the end of this weekend then I would suggest that there is an issue or they haven't actually got an appointment to make yet.

It is irrelevant as to whether the potential appointee will have much to do (be it Martin or someone else), it is about knowing that the club have made a decision and sorted out the first part of the jigsaw. At the moment it is starting to look like the piece of jigsaw has been lost down the back of the sofa.

I thought Saints always like to announce 'good news' on a Friday?

Martin to be announced tomorrow it is then.

Looks like Daniel Farke is going to join Leeds. Better choice than RM?

That was Koemans job description (in his head) when he was at Everton.

So Nick do you think they’re not appointing him because the players are on holiday?
Does that build any confidence among the players who might be considering staying or does squabbling over £400k with Swansea make players think this is going to be another debacle like last season?

If the players are on holiday then does it not make sense to think Russell is on holiday as well? Does he not need a holiday? Just simmer down, it’ll all happen in good time

Pretty much asI expected, which is why I haven’t renewed, yet. I want to see what is happening before committing again. The abject failure to address the striker issue last year, when everyone and their uncle knew that was what we needed above all else, destroyed my trust about putting my money up first.

We bought a Striker last July.
We bought another Striker in January.

They could probably agree terms with Swansea and make the appointment to reassure the fans that they are on top of things and this season isn’t going to be a monumental f*ck up like last season

We are such a well run club!

Look at those idiots at Chelsea! Appointing Pochettino in the middle of holiday and finger twiddling time! What a bunch of losers!

You can probably understand the concern because SRs history of managerial dealings hardly fills you with any confidence

The issue is Nick, the complete lack of news/communication. They could have said that we have a manager (without naming him) lined up but that appointment will not be made or until 15th June when we will officially name the appointment.

They could have said this week once we passed the 14th, who that manager is.

They could have said by now what their strategy is for the next season.

They could have said quite a bit, but instead they have said naff all.

Why is it important:-

- players will know (may be they do, but we don't know what they know);
- supporters will feel that some plan is in place
- the beginning of restoring some confidence and belief

Am I personally that bothered they have said nothing or that we are now past the 14th and I am hearing more from North Korea than I am St Marys? No, it doesn't affect my daily life but as a fan/supporter I am genuinely interested in the future of the club.

Swansea don't want to keep him and nobody else wants him. So, there isn't any real pressure. We know he's going to end up here. But, I agree, that hardly fills you with confidence.

Maybe after the Nathan Jones debacle, the club are hoping to slip him in unnoticed.

you should accept the reality that you are just a customer buying a ticket for entry to an enterment event, nothing else.

Would you expect The Mayflower or Anne Summers to keep you informed about management changes
