Team for Saturday 16:54 - Aug 3 with 9947 views | aston_hoop | Go on then, where are we at. GK - Begovic RB - Kakay CB - Fox CB - New Signing/Gubbins LB - Paal CM - Dozzell (Colback not fit apparently) CM - Field AM - Chair AM - Willock CF - Kelman CF - Dykes Obviously centre back a major issue. No idea how fit Fox is other than that he came through 60 minutes v Hanwell and will almost certainly have to start and play 90 minutes here. For some crazy reason, I'm going Kelman over Richards simply because I liked the Hold up man/poacher link-up him and Dykes had against Reading's kids. Plus Kelman looks fit and looks interested which is nice. In reality that won't happen, I reckon Ainsworth starts Adomah and plays Chair more central. I think Smyth and Armstrong won't be ready to start but can have an impact from the bench. Colback not ready to start either but he'll inevtiably play instead of Dozzell eventually. 4-0 Watford.

Team for Saturday on 17:04 - Aug 3 with 6264 views | Logman | I reckon he will start Albert because he thinks that Albert is a good pro who can be relied upon. I would say, instead of Kelman, in a 5 man midfield. The defence is extremely worrying. We have to hope that Fox hits the ground running and that we can get an emergency centre back in from somewhere in the next 18 hours. 3-0 Watford
Team for Saturday on 17:08 - Aug 3 with 6240 views | colinallcars | As my old dad used to say, “son, you can always find someone better off than yerself” It'll be a slaughter whichever 11 starts.

Team for Saturday on 19:49 - Aug 3 with 5947 views | daveB | I'd play Gubbins, he's another one who has been here years and never gets a game so we keep giving him new deals as we have no idea. A tough ask for the kid but what an opportunity for him if he plays well. If he's crap and we lose well at least we know I doubt he'll play 2 up front, think it will be 4-2-3-1 maybe Albert on the right with Chair in the middle and Willock on the left Armstrong and Smyth on last half an hour for pace on the break [Post edited 3 Aug 2023 19:49]

Team for Saturday on 20:00 - Aug 3 with 5877 views | dmm | I've wondered if he might go for 3 at the back - Kakay, Field, Fox - and 5 in midfield. But whatever the formation, there will be significant weaknesses.

Dixon-Bonner instead of Dozzell. Richards instead of Kelman.
Team for Saturday on 20:18 - Aug 3 with 5793 views | BklynRanger | I'd expect that, but 5 in midfield with 6 dropping into defence. This will break records for non-possession.At this point he should just add one or two of whichever fringe player is hungriest and angriest. Trials to be held in the Heston carpark tonight after 6 shared litres of strong cider. Hawkwind playlist optional. I'd honestly rather see a couple of development players kick Watford's talent up in the air than field last year's shytehouses.

Gubbins is 22 years old, hardly a kid anymore. Like many before him, if he isn’t up to it now, he never will be. Time to earn your corn young man. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

If he's not gonna play Saturday I'm not sure when he will play. I don't think he'll be a regular but like Drewe in the home game last season against Watford the adrenalin might help get him through and do a decent job for 1/2 games
Team for Saturday on 21:47 - Aug 3 with 5522 views | derbyhoop | I can't see mich different from Aston,'s choice. Maybe Richards for Kelman. But a couple of leftfield suggestions. Use Kakay as RCB with Drewe/Albert at RB Use Larkeche as a CB alongside Fox. In a 5 or instead of Gubbins. Not sure it would make any difference. Can't see beyond a Watford win.

Team for Saturday on 22:01 - Aug 3 with 5460 views | colinallcars | I think I read somewhere that Fox hasn't trained since April. I imagine likewise with Jack. Watford are likely to play a high tempo game. Doesn't bode well.

Fox played 60 minutes on Tuesday for the Development team so he should be able to at least do the same if not the whole 90 on Saturday.
Team for Saturday on 22:26 - Aug 3 with 5391 views | numptydumpty | Larkeche is interesting because from what I have seen so far he appears a decent tidy player and there was talk Paal could be used in midfield also. Begovic Larkeche Fox Field Kakay Paal Dozzell Dixon-Bonner Chair Willock Dykes

I'd prefer a JCB on the bench than a JCS - 14 tonne great reach and you wouldn't get past it.

Speaking to a Fulham mate of mine he says Larkeche is ok going forward. He’s nice and tidy but very poor defensively. Often out of position and gets bullied by strikers. A defence with him and Kakay fills me with no confidence. In my opinion Kakay is just not a Championship player. Our defence looks painfully weak tomorrow. Paal is hardly a great defender either. Any injury up top and we are done for even more. I can’t see anything than a home win of 4 or 5-0 and major boos from the Rs faithful at the end (the ones who have stayed).
