Arnstrong is a bit of a "near miss" for me. He was excellent in the promotion year, I always thought that he worked hard and ran about. Good in the championship, but was way out of his depth in the PL. Scores goals but missess so many chances too. He has been here over 4 years, two relegations, probably time for a change for him and us, perhaps January not being the ideal time though but we cash in now before he goes on a Free. Arnstrong is a bit of a "near miss" for me. He was excellent in the promotion year, I always thought that he worked hard and ran about. Good in the championship, but was way out of his depth in the PL. Scores goals but missess so many chances too. Have to agree with Southamptonfan. Arma is excellent in the championship, but needs too many chances to score and as you get less chances as a stiker in the Prem, thats going to result in less goals. Therefore if your not clinical.....well we all saw what happened.
Not an ideal time to lose him, but fully understand why the club would cash in now, as I wouldn't see him getting offered a better deal down the line. He's done well for us, had his time and now signs off in a positive manner having bagged another 11 for us this season.
My major concern is have we upgraded? It doesn't look like it. although I'm happy to be proved wrong. Larin's stats might not be good, but at least he's big, strong, with experience (for a change). |  |

The reason is he wanted to go, he was in and out of the side and you could see his heart was not in it.

Don't forget that we lost 2 'Strikers' this window - with D Downs going to Hamburg on loan. (Yes not much of a striker, but was still 'an option').
That means that Larin is replacing both Arma and Downs for the next 4 months.
I'm sure the club are making massive savings on wages, so hopefully the newbie hits the ground running and can notch a few times. I think he will need to train quite hard before getting pitch time, as wearing that baggy yellow training top doesn't hide the extra ballast he is carrying that well !! :-) |  |

No doubt he was happy to go because he was no longer a first choice and when he played, he was asked to play a role he wasn't very good at. He'd become a misfit.
