Yep acoustics, you can’t always hear away fans singing from my seat in Itchen north ,you can see them with hands in air etc but that’s it . It’s definitely the problem because sometimes from where I sit in Itchen the saints support sounds very loud from Northam and it’s definitely louder than I’ve ever heard it before when all singing in unison so it surprises me when some say the Northam is rubbish, I guess some just don’t like the youngsters . West Brom play offs, Arsenal, Ipswich the other night very loud just need to do it in run of the mill games.

PS. In response to the original question, I got tickets for Preston but it’s my wife’s birthday so it was always going to be a bit of a push. I forgot it was an early kick off too. That’s good for getting back but not for getting there in time. [Post edited 30 Apr 10:55]

Yes, I know they must have stopped singing then because the Northam were singing "You're not singing any more."
As has been said by others, the acoustics at St Mary's are not good, so noise from any part of the ground doesn't carry far. It's obviously been designed and used materials to reduce noise pollution to the local area.
Really, the only time when everyone in the stadium will hear the singing is when just about everybody around the ground is singing. It was even worse before the changes. I never heard our so-called home end when it was hidden away in the Northam/Kingsland corner. [Post edited 30 Apr 11:07]

You are right I do talk a lot of sh*te at times and it is rarely personal towards anyone and my words earlier were no different.
Its about 500 miles to Preston and £90 in petrol, share that between 4 people and its only £25 each.
It's not about whether I will be in Middlesbrough on a Tuesday night, given that I have been to Middlesbrough about 10 times over the years, but never on a Tuesday night, I expect i will go as Im doing the Middlesbrough 7, a rare club of football supporters who have seen their team play at Boro on all 7 different days of the week..
I once saw Saints play Darlington in a friendly on a Sunday though.
My original point still remains though, this is an important game as we need to finish 3rd or 4th for an advantage in the play offs, if we were level on points with Wrexham or Hull for 6th place, bizarrely I think most who are now trying to bin it off would probably go.
