Do you think West Brom fans would say they are a bigger club than us ?
I would say so they have won the League title albeit back in 1920 and been runners up on two other occasions.
They have won the FA Cup 5 times, the last time in 1968, just 8 years before we won it ourselves and they have also been runners up on another 5 occasions.
They have also won the League cup in 1966
Historically they have spent more years in the top flight than us.
Just about the only claim we would have over them is that in the Premier League era we have spent more years in that then they have, 12 seasons compared to our 25.
Pompey fans claim they are bigger than us, but they are truly basing that on a 30 year period between the 1920's and late 50's, other than that they have usually been at best in the same division and mostly lower.
In the last 65 years they have finished above us in the League standings just 7 times
