If Alemayhu is the bolter from this preseason and he genuinely becomes part of the matchday squad that would be a huge, unexpected positive. And fair play to Nourry/Belk for identifying him 12 months ago.
That said, pre season is very different from the Championship. We shouldn’t expect much from him, given he has one appearance in the Championship in a dead rubber. It’d be great if he plays a big role, but let’s see it as all upside. There is still a big valley to bridge between Bromley pre-season and Millwall away in the Championship.
It would be prudent to bring in an experienced central midfielder still. But fair play to the lad. He appears to have stepped up and taken his chance.
I agree. We probably do need an experienced CM to replace Hayden from last season. And yes you can’t ever really assess a player until you see them playing against Championship opponents in a competitive match.
But there are some things that look good about this guy and the way we get through players these days he looks like he could come and do a job, which is exciting.

Our keeper has the passing range of Glenn Hoddle. Can we play him in midfield? Isak and Phil look very good. Nice to have some real potential talent coming through and Alfie looks a lot bigger and stronger now.
Bromley were my local side as an early teenager. Watched either them, Welling or Cray Wanderers most weeks when Rangers were away. Nice ground. Pain the arse to get to as 61 bus stopped at the wrong end of Hayes Lane.
I too watched a charity match there c 1983. Still have Ian Dawes sock ties in my self store unit in Brecon. Not there tonight the ouzo in Rhodes is more appealing.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game tonight. It’s not often you watch a match surrounded by fields with horses frolicking in them.

I see they went down to the local pub and asked that keeper if he had boots and gloves because he was probably better off sitting this one out to be fair . Lots of goals from us but more like a 3 or 4 goal game in reality . Still Chair looks excellent which is like a new signing really
Can't imagine Stephan will be happy with the level of opposition as it really was a no contest, but still minutes in the legs and all came through unscathed.
Positive scoreline but didn't learn much from the game that we didn't already know, my main takeaway was another very encouraging display from Alemayehu. So positive in all his actions offensively and showed tenacity defensively, loved that he was receiving the ball when the CB's split and had the energy to get up the pitch to have the final action with a handful of shots and his well improvised goal.
He ran the game along with Chair so much so that you wouldn't have noticed Morgan was out there as well, feels like he's snatched his shirt in pre season and could be a good deputy to Madsen, albeit untried in the League atm.
Charles' distribution is a joke and shows us what we've pretty much never had in a GK since them being involved in build up has become the norm. A joy to see Sanyaolu so happy with his goal to cap off a good performance, and some nice flashes from Scarlett and Sutton who Lloyd should have teed up for a tap in.
Only disappointment was Adamson not showing out against this level of opposition once again. He stands so far off his man, lost most of his ground and aerial duels and does nothing positive when attacking. At 23 he looks worse than Kakay was at that age and needs to be moved on so we can get someone of 1st Team standard in.
Me and my Dad had our very own IT crowd moment yesterday,we just so happend to sat next to a QPR fan who was complaining about how we were playing and stated "if we score this penalty ive seen enough" we score he gets up leaves and I just shout "but we're winning"

You’re not alone, Kernow. It’s real ‘lowest common denominator’ stuff. I was stuck in the middle of it (along with a group who spent the entire game ‘hilariously’ making one of the stewards’ life a misery as he vainly tried to keep the emergency exits clear).
I was surprised how bad Bromley were last night. They must have had a fair number of youngsters playing. I've seen them before and their first team is much better than that.
Isak did get caught in possession early in the game and was lucky that Brom didn't make more of it.
But from that point on he was probably the best player on the pitch and, along with Illy, absolutely ran the show - and just a bar width away from scoring a second worldie!

Very encouraging (from our point of view). Liked his ‘taking the positives’ analysis from their point of view too: the last 23 minutes was a draw!
What I like is that we've played the same system in all of our pre season games & that the players seem to know/understand what is expected from them. Also that we're playing the ball on the ground whenever possible & going forward a lot quicker than last season.
I'm looking forward to seeing if Varane can set up attacks today like Alemayehu has.
I'm far from sure that a 4-1-4-1 formation will be the right way to play against all Championship clubs, but it will pose some questions on our opponents that they might not have expected.

Yes it's lovely to hear praise for our play of course, but what a grounded, articulate, excellent video analysis. Bromley fans are lucky to have him if he does this kind of stuff regularly for them.

Bromley are my local team and I watch them regularly. In fact I probably know as much about their squad as ours!
Andy Woodman admitted after the game that it was a mistake from a Bromley POV to have these 2 split squad games on consecutive days. They’re very light at the back at the moment (a couple more CB signings are expected) with first choice goalie Grant Smith currently out injured and new CB signing Deon Woodman picking up a potentially long term injury in midweek. Of the back 5 that played tonight, only Chanse Headman has any real chance of starting the first game. Dillon Addai is the 3rd choice keeper and the two full backs are teenage academy players.
It was still a surprisingly poor defensive display from Bromley, especially as all these players were involved in the recent pre season games against Palace (3-0 win) and Millwall (1-1 draw), both of whom fielded plenty of first team squad players.
But I still think a lot of credit is due to our players for making them look so poor. Some of our football was a joy to watch - and Machel St Patrick Hewitt (From Bromley With Love website - the Bromley version of Clive basically!) - said as much as (see the video I posted last night.)

I can explain this one - we were in the standing section near the fence and the chant started because one of our fellow rangers (who was clearly well oiled) kept trying to start chants, shout out 'witty' comments, etc.
However, he had basically lost his voice by 20th minute so he's shouting/singing could only be picked up by dogs. It sounded ridiculous and fans in the standing section were laughing at him. The chant was actually aimed at one of our own!

He does indeed and you are absolutely correct, they are! I had the pleasure of chatting with Machel over many beers in Broomfields after Bromley secured the League Two title and he really is a fantastic person to chat football with, as well as just being an absolute top fella all round.
Chair will tear you apart again got my attention as maybe not the right tune for a preseason friendly.
Reasons are as follows:
1) Hasn't torn anything beyond his hamstring in quite a while. 2) Hasn't torn Bromley apart before as far as I know 3) Was supposed to be a friendly and we looked like a bunch of knuckle dragging tw@ts being overly aggressive.
Perhaps a few drank a little to much and forgot where they were. I hope that's all it was.

I really enjoyed last night. Lovely setting with the fields and sunset, and Rs fans on great form. Bromley GK and defence clearly weak, but you can only beat what's put in front of you and we were excellent. From the off we were hungry, sharp, and wanting to be on the ball. Isak was exceptional his first touch is 5x better than Morgan and looked the part, and what a goal. Chair running things and great to see Lloyd having such confidence. And I love our new keeper, some of the passes he sprayed down the wing. And defence didnt give them a sniff. Will be interesting to see the 2nd friendly team try and match them. Squad looks in a really good place - fit sharp & harmonious
Tonight Alemayehu was truly eye catching, and not only due to his beautiful over head kick goal.
I've been trying to keep a lid on my enthusiasm for him for some time now. I've seen too many false dawns when it comes to youngsters at our club. But I really do think this lad is a rising star. He's not 100% ready to start in the first team, but he should certainly be included in the senior squad.
Keep an eye in Isak.
I liked what I saw of him last night against a half and half Bromley team and don't want to get too excited, but he has played in the Swedish league and certainly doesn't look too far off from being in the matchday squad.
Obviously, injuries may make it necessary to put him in earlier than preferred. However, I do think he will be a first team player at some point this season if he keeps on playing well.
I would even consider a contract extension in case some clubs start sniffing around.

No, I thought that was a terrible song to sing in a pre season match against a not so local side. Absolutely pointless and does nothing for QPR Fans reputation.
Those who sang that it is one thing to support QPR, but should hang their heads in shame .
Have to ask, because a lot on here from last night was about Isak (and rightly so) but who is this guy PHILIP Sanyaolu - He was very good from what I saw of him and a lot of pace too. I dont really know much about the DS if I am honest but from reading he has been with the club since he was 8.
Is he any good, or did he just have a good game last night
