I'm still hoping this Nathan Jones clown is just being used as a decoy so that fans will be pleased it wasn't him when they finally announce who it really is. One report says the Club is going to take its time over choosing the new manager so hopefully better candidates will emerge. It's still important for fans to let the Club know now that we don't want Jones, just to make sure though, as they may have put his name out there just to test fans' reaction to it. Fortunately, that message does appear to be coming across loud and clear through social media and all Saints-related sites. [Post edited 8 Nov 2022 9:34]

It's a fair point. Spurs fans directly stopped the appointment of Gatusso. Maybe our vociferous fans could stand outside SMS and tut loudly?

I don't know who would come here - to a club with no strikers. It's one thing getting the team playing again & trying to get us up the table. But if you're a manager looking at Saints in our current state - you'd have to wonder where the goals are coming from. This is the main problem Ralph had which stems back to the Summer. And which clubs are going to sell a top striker in January?

I know that's very much tongue-in-cheek, but surely our main two strikers in Armstrong & Adams are proof that the PL is a whole new ball game - literally. Sir Rickie Lambert must have been the last really good striker that we bought from the lower leagues who actually knew where the goal was.

Hassenhutl replaced confidence with fear..the whole squad have regressed under his watch...they haven't played as a settled TEAM since last February .its been a mess and its obvious to see that it's effectively lowered standards across the squad....the new lads came in and played with freedom and enthusiasm...within 5 games that had been coached out of them... Its highly unlikely that Nathan Jones is our primary target..he's a decoy.

You don't usually go down the route of getting permission from a current employer club to speak to a manager if he's just a decoy.

On the contrary. Why piss off a club, who won't know its just a decoy, by talking to their manager when you have no intention of appointing him?

To even interview a possible replacement that is in position at another club you by rights need to inform the parent club and receive permission..if said interview doesn't convince either party then both parties move on...how anyone thinks Nathan Jones is our preferred first choice is beyond me...

I think Nathan Jones being forwarded has scared the livings out of many a Saints Supporter, and after the clown show of the past season or so its understandable...however Jones is already in the firing line without even being installed... If however it was Marcello Gallardo being muted, we'd be jumping around ecstatically and thinking very positively... I'm looking forward to us tearing Wednesday a new backside tomorrow with a team unleashed from the bizarre world of Hassenhutl dragging them down...and the little yet possible ocurence of Selles being in charge for the foreseeable weeks ahead.

Why should he deserve any respect from us? He's a clown who twitches on the touchline, biting his fingernails and looking like he's desperate to go to the toilet.
