| Let's give Slack Jack some credit for once. 12:40 - Oct 15 with 1047 views | GRIM | I personally am one of Jack's biggest critics but to his credit he's come in & we've managed to get two clean sheets since he's been back. So for the time being I'm going to refrain from calling him Slack Jack. | | | | |

He had 3 bad games at the beginning of the season making some bad errors, which is why he was dropped for Wood, but credit to him he was good last night and Pompey. He's got to keep up that standard, and I hope he does as we really need a settled defence.

I think it was a good move bringing him in for Pompey as he knew what was at stake, and not just 3 points. He's been with the club a long time now and it also meant a lot to him as well as the fans It also helps having Schlott or whatever his name is - Keven - alongside

Sorry Shotters, only now catching up on posts and hadn't seen yours, but mine below pretty much says what yours does

Nothing outstanding, no significant errors but he does contribute to the slow build up from the back, which often invites problems. He has a role to play as a squad player, but I would still like to see a new CB come in, but that is going to be unlikely in the Jan window. Nobody gets rid of quality CB's in Jan unless they are nearly out of contract.

Perhaps we'll see Harwood Bellis back on loan in January. He's not getting games at Villa. I agree with your comment about us playing more slowly out from the back when Jack is playing. It is noticeable but perhaps that is Tonda's plan ?. Jack definitely looks more comfortable playing right side of the 2 ctr backs.
