How Armstrong never starts is beyond me
Back 4 please the three never works

Armstrong will be sold in the summer before he gets too old for a transfer fee. The owners are to blame.

The owners don't decide who plays or what formation to use.
But if all they want to do is to sell players and use the club as a money making exercise no matter what league they're in, then why do we actually fu cking bother to buy tickets to watch their business model rather than good football?
I for one have had enough.

We have all had enough I think. Gao, Semmens and the current owners have sold all our best players to bring in a load of inexperienced young players, for one reason only and that's to make money for themselves. We need to get them out if we want change.

I agree but until the supporters grow a pair and start boycotting foamed, not buying shirts, sh*t beer and food nothing will change, the only thing that hurts is money

They won't though, I can't think of a less militant club, they wouldn't take this shit up north, since the Dell went 50% of our lot are Tarquins from Romsey.

Its a slow rot thats been going on all this year and the latter part of 2021. The evidence on the pitch was clear to see. Numerous players disillusioned with Hasenhuttl and a club boardroom being fully aware, but not doing anything about it. There is a reason why three players this summer wouldnt sign new contracts.

Hasenhuttl being allowed past the summer has put us in a relegation battle. We could have had a right open choice during that time and brought in someone that was up to the job.

But it's the owners who do the recruiting and that's where the blame has to lay

Yes NJ is picking the team and the tactics, but at the end of the day the players and tactics are not quite working or at least not able to work together

And the owners choose a manager that promises to play and develop young players. There is also pressure from the board to the manager to play the younger players and the players the board have spend money on. It's not as simple as NJ just picking the team. He is under pressure to develop the young ones. He can't develop them if he plays the older ones like Armstrong.

Armstrong’s not been playing as he’s had a slight injury, although seeing how he’s now basically played a full game since we started again in the leagues (as he’s pretty much played half of both the Fulham and Brighton games) he should certainly be starting on Wednesday night

Armstrong did very little when he came on today.

Which it pains me to say, as I really rate him.

The real concern is that we will be bottom at the end of next year as well. Yet, just a few games ago we deservedly drew with the best team in the land. What's really let us down is the lack of a goalscoring striker. With one, we'd have beaten Arsenal that day and who knows how high up the league we'd be now: certainly not in the bottom 3.

When things go wrong, there is a natural tendency to blame everyone and everything. We all have our scapegoats. But one decent striker is all it would have taken to solve the problem. I was told that Ralph was promised one in the summer and was understandably furious with the board when that promise was broken. The failure to fulfill that promise probably came down to a last minute a slip up, a misunderstanding....

If we'd had Mitrovic and Fulham had Adams (who, incidentally I think is our best striker) we'd have won today. We could have bought Mitrovic easily when Fulham were in the Championship. We could have bought Brentford's goalkeeper, David Raya, before he even joined Brentford, even more easily. Anyone who was at St Mary's in 2015 for the U21 Premier League Cup Final could have told you he was going to be a great goalkeeper. I even posted as much on here and every transfer window since said we should sign him. I'm no expert but, sometimes, it seems to me that the 'professionals' at our club are very amateurish.

Our success was built on the vision of Cortese, the recruitment of Paul Mitchell and the leadership of Fonte. We need people of that calibre again. Fonte as manager would be a good start.

Had forgotten that one. So under Ralph we beat Chelsea and drew against Arsenal. Before that we beat Bournemouth away. Since then things have got worse and worse.

Watch that sublime piece of skill from Elyounoussi for the assist to Stuart Armstrong's goal. We kept attacking and Arsenal were hanging on at the end. That was just a few games ago.

I don’t think Sport Republic would recruit Jose Fonte as manager.

They are far too wacky for that.

Pat, Im not sure what they are. I must admit I was very postiive about their takeover as I'd attributed Brentford's success to Ankersen but events since have shown that he was probably taking the plaudits for other people's work: a bit like Les Reed did here. Whoever is Brentford's equivalent of Paul Mitchell is the person we really needed here; not their Les Reed.
